I tried not to giggle at his rambling. "Sir, I told you I don't mind," was all I said in reply.

Nicholas

"Right," I said, blushing slightly and smiling at her. "You can call me Nicholas, by the way. Or Nick. Sir sounds so... awkward."

Juliet
I stared at him for a moment; it was sort of surprising how third class passengers didn't know that we were supposed to be polite. "Nicholas, it's custom to call people sir or miss, or so I've been taught." I looked around to make nobody was watching us. "But personally, I find it really annoying."

[Callie]

Nicholas

"Well, you used my name just now, instead of sir... or miss, which I'm quite grateful for," I said with a laugh, running a hand through my hair. "If you would prefer to call me by name instead of sir or miss, it wouldn't bother me, and I assure you, I'll keep it to myself." I smiled a bit and put a finger to my lips.

Juliet
I smiled gratefully at him. "It feels so good to be able to talk to someone normally. I can't handle being this polite all the time. Then again, I shouldn't be talking to you at all."

[Callie]

Nicholas

I smiled grimly. "No, you probably shouldn't be. Does this mean I can drop the polite act, as well? I mean, I can do it, but I'm not quite... used to it."

I nodded. "Yes, I suppose you can, or else things might get awkward."

[Callie]

Nicholas

I laughed. "Thanks. So, what did you have in mind anyways?"

Juliet
"I didn't tell my parents this, but I was intending on exploring the ship," I told him.

[Callie]

Nicholas

I grinned widely at her. "Sounds like a plan if I've ever heard one."

[Emmy]

James
I walked back out into the open, but ended up running into someone. A lady. (Chastity ) "Oh...sorry, miss..." I said sheepishly. "I wasn't watching where I was going."

Juliet
I raised an eyebrow. "You want to come along?"

[Callie]

Chastity

When someone knocked into me, I made a face and looked up, starting to tell the guy off. "Watch where you're - oh shit. I'm... uh..." I grimaced and curtsied awkwardly. "Sorry, sir," I finished lamely. This is what I get for starting to get pissy at people I haven't looked at.

Nicholas

"Wasn't that the purpose of letting me know you wanted to explore?" I asked her.

James
I chuckled slightly. "Watch the mouth, it could get you in some trouble. I'm James." I said holding out a hand.

Juliet
"Not necessarily, but I'm glad I have a partner in crime now!" I told him.

[Callie]

Nicholas

I laughed. "Ironically enough, that usually is my job... Just not with beautiful first class women such as yourself," I said with a small smile, then blushed. "Erm... I'm sorry... My, er, forward side seems to be rearing its head."

Chastity

"I..." I looked at his hand cautiously before shaking it. For some reason, after Ben, I'd never really trusted higher-class people again. It seemed like things would never end well in the end. But I couldn't think about Ben right now. That was the past, and if I thought about Ben, it'd show, and I'd have to explain. "I'm Chastity."

I blushed too. "To return the compliment, I myself am not used to being in the company of handsome third class men."

James
I noticed the hesitation but didn't say anything about it. And now I didn't know what to say at all...good going, James. "Excited about the trip to America?" I tried lamely.

[Callie]

Nicholas

I smiled at her. "Now you're just being polite. I'd rather you only say something if you mean it... Unless, of course, you did?"

Chastity

"You could say that... Honestly, I'm more excited about getting to America than the trip," I said with a slight smile. "Ship conditions for... well, my class... aren't exactly the best." I bit back a "but you wouldn't know about that, would you?" with great difficulty.

"I meant it," I said sincerely, and my blush deepened.

[Emmy]

James
I bit my lip, I knew that third class people were not treated well. But I didn't know anything about that. "I despise ships, so. Not that fun of a trip for me either," I smiled weakly.

[Callie]

Chastity

I could see the comprehension dawn on his face, and I stood there for a moment, waiting for him to walk away or something, but he didn't, so I just looked at him in curiousity. "... You know I'm third class but you don't... care if you're seen talking to me?" I didn't get it.

Nicholas

"Oh. Well... in that case, thank you. Now, to move over this awkward bit..." I laughed softly, "where to, first? You lead the way."

James
"Talking to you is more entertaining then my sisters. So, I guess you could say I don't really mind." I shrugged. "I can go if you want me to, though." I said politely.

Juliet
I started walking, but slowly so we could keep pace together. "I wanted to see this grand staircase everybody's talking about. And the clock. I heard it's very ornately carved."

[Callie]

Nicholas

"Like I said: lead the way. Either the clock or the grand staircase," I said with a smile.

Chastity

"Erm... no. It... never mind. So you get seasick?" I asked him.

"They're in the same place," I told him, nodding as I led the way back into the ship.

Nicholas

"That would make more sense." I laughed. "Sorry, I'm a bit slow at times."

"Oh no, I understand. I used to be pretty slow myself," I assured him, smiling kindly.

[Callie]

Nicholas

I looked at her for a minute, a puzzled expression on my face. "Do you ever laugh? I mean... I don't mean it in a rude way, but I don't think I've seen you laugh yet. It's very... unnerving."

"I don't know if I'm allowed to laugh," I murmured. "It's been awhile since I've heard anything to really laugh at."
