I made a face, then smiled slightly at her. "Jokes are overrated. I can just imagine what some of the first-class joke tellers' jokes are about. '... And then, she revealed that she didn't actually own a jewelry box and she preferred to keep her diamonds in the bottom drawer of her dresser! Needless to say, she was laughed out of the ballroom!'"

I glanced at her and shook my head. "How can you even enjoy anything like that? You gotta appreciate the small things in life!" I exclaimed, gesturing up towards the deck. "Did you see that view of the sea? It's things like that you have to pay attention to. There's not enough time in life to just... ignore everything. You gotta let things surprise you, you gotta... be in awe of the beauty around you." I was aware I was starting to rant, but that was really beyond my caring.
