I looked down at the boy. "I suppose so. I would assume you would need one." I would be more than happy to be his ally; not that I would gain something from it, but he would.

Deen

I smiled at her. "Thank you for not killing me, again." I unzipped the backpack I'd picked up before I'd ran. It all seemed fine. The dried food it contained was still dry, the bottle still... empty.

Finally, when I was sure it was quiet I sat down by the spring and began to unpack the bag that I'd taken. I kept my knife close by me the whole time, you'd never know when you could be attacked.

"Do you want me to fill up the bottle for you?" I asked kindly, seeing him eyeing an empty water bottle.

Deen

I nodded. "My name's Deen. I thought it would be nice to know if we're allies." I smiled, holding it out to her. I don't want to go near the river again, after what happened.

Juniper
I put my wet hair up in a ponytail before taking the bottle from him. "I'm Juniper," I told him. I walked back over to the river, leaning down carefully as I filled the bottle up with water.

I nodded, taking it back, and putting it back in the bag. "Nice name. It's a plant, isn't it?" I ask.

"And a berry," I added, nodding.

Deen

I nodded. I was nervous. The fact that somebody could be coming to murder us put me on edge. I didn't say anything for a while.

I heard the snapping of a twig, and somebody cursing quietly. My eyes widened, and I quickly grabbed one of Deen's arms, grabbing our stuff with the other. I dragged us into the cover of some bushes, bringing a finger to my lips, warning him to be quiet.

Deen

I nodded, watching the person come out. I hoped they hadn't seen us going in to the bushes. I looked at Juniper, waiting to see if she would attack or hide.

In the Capital...

The Gamemakers weren't happy. Only two killings in the bloodbath? This is not how the Hunger Games were to start. The Gamemakers start planning something... to "help."

The footfalls on the ground came closer, and I held my breath. I couldn't take the risk. I had to do it. I slowly pulled the gun up from the ground, my hands shaking as I pointed it at the back of what looked like the District 1 girl. I closed my eyes, pulled the trigger, and heard the cry of the person as they fell to the ground, the poison in the dart killing them slowly. I swallowed hard. I just killed a person.

Deen

I swallowed, looking away as she died. That girl was dead. But two, no, three cannons fired. Three people dead. I looked at Juniper, "Are you okay?" I asked, my voice shaking.

Juniper
I nodded, unable to look at Deen. "Yeah," I said hoarsely. I can't believe I'd...and...oh God. I killed someone. I swore I never would...but what if she had found us? I was allies with Deen - I had to protect him.

Deen

"Was- was she alone?" I asked. I wanted to take her supplies. She had no use for them now she was dead, as much as I hated that.

Juniper
I nodded slightly. "I didn't hear anybody else." I slowly walked over to the body of the girl, then took the bow and arrows slung over her shoulder from her, along with her backpack of supplies.

Deen

I nodded, and followed her out. "Do you want to go?" People might have heard Junipers gun, or the girl.

I heard three cannons. Wow, three people? I thhought a bunch f people would be dead by now. I jumped down from the tree and rolled behind a bush. I needed to find someplace to fill my cantine up. I wandered the forest as quiet as possible. I heard a girl scream and I ran. I jumped over a river then did a double-take. "Wow, my brain is just slow today huh?" I mumbled to myself walking back towards the river. I dipped my cantine in and filled it to the top.

OOC: Oh no, Juniper has a dart gun. It's silent but deadly.

Juniper
"Yes," I said, slinging the bow and quiver of arrows over my shoulder and handing Deen the girl's backpack. "We need to find some good cover that we can sleep in tonight."

Deen

I slung the backpack over my shoulder. "Which way?" I asked, trying to keep the good spirits in my voice, but it was hard, seeing what she'd done.

"That way," I said, pointing slightly to where the jungle got deeper and the brush got thicker. "Just try to keep quiet." I was about to start walking, when I noticed his expression. "Are...you okay?"

Deen

I nodded. "She just... She didn't have a chance." I murmured blankly, staring at the body.

Juniper
I sighed. "I know...but it was you or her, and I had to choose her. She could have killed either one of us ; she's from District 1. She was pretty well trained for this."

[Kitkat.]

Deen

"I know." I murmured. I hated that people had a better chance at survival in this stupid game. "Gamemakers. Sick bastards." I muttered under my breath.

Juniper
I looked at him in surprise. "Now where did you learn that language?" I asked teasingly.

[Kitkat.]

Deen

I'd heard people use it a lot, cursing the Capitol and the peacemakers. I looked at her, ignoring the teasing note in her voice. "Home." My father had used it a lot when he thought I'd been asleep.

"...Oh. Okay," I said softly, turning and starting to walk. "Come on; let's keep looking for a good place to camp."
