I check my supplies in my pack. I had a bottle of water and a strange chemical that looked like it would purify water if needed. there was some dry fruit, a sleeping bag and a roll of bandages, which I was sure would come in handy. I stood up, pulled my bag on to my bag, grabbed my knife from the floor and began walking again. I didn't feel safe back there.

Deen

I followed silently, hoping that nobody would have to die. But knowing at least one of our team had to was scarier than I could imagine.

Juniper
Finally, I decided to stop; rain forest trees and willow trees were completely surrounding us, and the branches were big and thick. We could sleep in the cover of the branches and nobody would see us. "We'll stop here and eat," I told Deen.

I walked slowly and stealthily through the jungle, the tranquilizer gun in my hands, a knife in the other. I heard the whistling of wind, and I quickly turned around and batted the arrow that had been flying at my head away. I glared at the foolish District 3 boy, and pointed the gun at him. His body spasmed and he fell to the ground. I quickly ran over to him, looked at him coldly, and then stabbed him with the knife until I was sure he was dead. I stole his supplies and quickly ran off as the sound of a cannon boomed through the arena.

Deen

I nodded, and put the two bags down on the floor. I jumped when the cannon went off. Another murder. I said nothing, and sat on the floor to sort through the packs. I laid out the contents of them in a row.

Juniper
I sorted the foods, deciding which were best to safe for more drastic times and ones we could eat now. The cannon boomed in the distance, and I sighed. More people probably could have been dead; this will only make the game harder.

Deen

I nodded, and put the two bags down on the floor. I jumped when the cannon went off. Another murder. I said nothing, and sat on the floor to sort through the packs. I laid out the contents of them in a row.

Juniper
"Well...what do you want to eat now?" I finally asked.

[Kitkat.]

Deen

I shrugged. "Anything." I was hungry, I wanted to eat something, not the rich Capitol food, but the bland, cheap food we ate at home.

Juniper
"All right." I picked up a half loaf of bread and split in two, giving the bigger half to Deen. The bread couldn't compare to the bread back home, I thought as I chewed.

[Kitkat.]

Deen

I chewed it slowly, quietly. I sighed, wishing I could have stayed home with my mother. But this was what had to happen to me. "You scared?" I asked quietly.

Juniper
I wanted to seem strong and confident for him, like this was no big deal for me. I could keep us both safe. But that would mean lying. "Absolutely," I whispered.

[Kitkat.]

Deen

I nodded. I knew if I ended up killing her, I'd be messed up for however long my life lasted after that. "Good." My mouth suddenly felt so dry, I had to take a sip out of my bottle to calm down.

Juniper
I raised an eyebrow. "How is that good?"

[Kitkat.]

Deen

"Because it means you trust me." I told her, smiling.

[JennyxEli]

Juniper
"Oh," I said, smiling back. It was nice to see he looked moderately pleased. "I do trust you. Do you trust me?"

[Kitkat.]

Deen

"Yes, you saved my life. Of course I trust you." I smiled at her.

Juniper
"I'm glad that you trust me," I said, finishing off my bread. The sun was starting to set in the arena; I was glad that we hadn't had a lot of trouble today.

[Kitkat.]

Deen

"Good, good." I stared up at the sunset. It was scary that it could be my last, but that thought was far from my mind.

Juniper
"Let's start tying our stuff up in the trees," I instructed, putting everything back into the packs. "We'll need to be settled and hidden by the time night falls."

[Kitkat.]

Deen

I nodded. "Yep." I clambered up the tree, something easy to do, finally. I peered down at her, smiling.

Juniper
I chuckled quietly. "All right, spider monkey. You can probably do that a bit better than me since you're younger." I threw him up a bag, then climbed up the tree and tied another to a different branch.

[Kitkat.]

Deen

I caught the bag easily, scrambling up to a higher branch so the bag would be safer before I tied it up. "When did I become spider monkey?" I laughed.

Juniper
"Since you started climbing trees like nobody's business," I teased. I tied the bag we had taken from the dead District 1 girl, then pulled a blanket out of one of them. The branches were pretty wide and thick, making it not too easy to fall off.

[Kitkat.]

OOC: I just realised Juniper and Deen are district partners.

Deen

I laughed. "I've been up trees half my life!" Trees were our business at home. I grinned at her as I hopped down to her.

OOC: =O Really? I had no idea.

Juniper
"Haha, that's how it was, us District 11 people, right?" I said, realizing why he seemed so familiar he was now. He was my district partner. I hadn't even tried to get to know him before now.

[Kitkat.]

OOC: lol

Deen

I grinned. "I thought I knew your face from somewhere!" I said. I'd never spoken to her before, at home. She was so much older than me that I'd never see her in school. Five years made a difference.

"You'd think they would have shoved us together every chance they got on the way here, huh?" I said.

[Kitkat.]

Deen

I nodded. "You'd think so." I smiled at her, swinging my legs down.

Juniper
I shrugged. "Well, maybe they'll catch on to that at some point," I commented, tossing Deen the blanket and finding myself another one.

[Kitkat.]

Deen

I wrapped the blanket around me, sighing. "Maybe they will, maybe they won't." I smiled, picking at a piece of bark on the tree.
