The Storm: New Planet

"It was a story passed on from the older members of the Crows to us younger members, you could say," I lied smoothly, adding a grin for good measure. "Once upon a time," I started, rolling my eyes slightly, "there was a young boy, about seven. He was found in a cold, dark alley by the older assassins. They took him in, because it's better to start them young, in their opinion. You find them young and raise them to know nothing but death and murder. They raised the young boy as such, but he didn't want to be there, apparently; he fought them every step of the way, breaking rules and doing anything he could to aggravate them. They tortured him to teach him lessons. Starved him for days, weeks, but he kept it up. They did a thing called 'drawing'... I don't know if you've heard of it. It involves tying one down, then using levers to pull one's arms out. Supposedly feels like they're being torn out of their sockets. They didn't think they'd ever be able to get him to follow the rules. He was good, though. At... killing. At murder. That was, the boy suspected, why they didn't kill him. He was good at his job and he knew it. It made him cocky. Too cocky, some would say. Someone sent out a contract for him to kill someone, supposedly a quite difficult mark, and he gladly took it, figuring when he easily killed the mark, it would make for some marvelous boasting. He didn't know the whole story, though, and the target actually managed to sway him to see things at his point of view. The other assassins assumed the boy was dead, so they sent more assassins after the mark. The target was away when they came, so it was only the boy, but he was not a boy any longer. Good assassin though he might've been, and unbearable torture though he might've withstood, he didn't stand a chance against four of the other assassins, even if they were only apprentices, such as he. They fought for a long time, and the boy - the assassin - thought he was beaten, but he would not give in. Instead, his target returned. Though the assassin was ready to keel over and admit defeat, his target killed them. Three of them. The fourth had already been felled by the assassin, who was next to unconscious while his target fought his old colleagues. When they were all dead, the so-called target picked up the assassin and carried him into a tent, where he was slowly nursed back to health. Friends, they called themselves. The boy thanked him profusely before he went back to the other assassins - he knew he could not stay with his new friend, or it would be even more dangerous. So, when he was back, he accepted the whip's angry lashes without so much as two words, and went back to killing. He never forgot his friend, though, even as he took even more lives, they say."

Ty

"I didn't know we were either." I smiled weakly at her, then nodded in agreement. "If you need time to think things over... I... I can do that."

Rachel
I locked my fingers into my hair, my face scrunching up. "I'm afraid that...if I'm given time to think...I'll chicken out. I'll cower in my room and try to avoid the problem. Wait for everything to just blow over and be forgotten, like I usually do. But I don't want to do that." I went silent for a moment, then shouted, "Why does everything have to be so goddamn hard?!"

Harley
I listened intently to him speak. I was going to ask if he was the assassin, but if he wasn't, I would sound terribly stupid. So I just looked down for a moment, and finally said, "His life sucks more than mine, I think."

Kaden

I just shrugged. "Most Crows are used to that sort of thing."

Ty

I smiled faintly at her. "Because life's like that?"

Harley
"Was that you?" I finally asked after a minute of thinking about it.

[Callie]

Kaden

I grinned at her. "Yes. It was. And the target was Slade... or Silas. Whatever you know him as." He'd saved my life and he was my only friend; it was why I was helping him now. Even if the boss of the Crows had said I couldn't leave, it wouldn't've mattered. If Silas needed me, I would be there.

OOC: I hate writing about my character's in conflict. Now I have to figure out how Rachel is going to end up picking Ty. DX :?

Rachel
"Well life sucks," I said dryly. Okay, let's way the pros and cons of each boy right now. Pros of Alex: He's mysterious and sexy. He seems to understand me. I've known him longer. Cons of Alex: He left without telling me. He's from another planet. He's a vampire. He didn't seem to have any romantic interest in me until just now. He seems to possessive. Pros of Ty: He does understand me. He saved me from that creep at the House of Blues. He treats me like an adult. He's met my parents and left a decent impression. He's geuinely kind. We've been attracted to each other from the beginning, not just me being attracted to him. Cons of Ty: He has to leave eventually.
I think I know what I want. I think.

Harley
"Why were they targeting Slade..? or is this more underground fantasy assassin stuff I wouldn't understand?"

[Callie]

OOC: I love how Alex has so many more cons than Ty. xD

Kaden

I chuckled harshly. "I don't actually know. Con of the Crows: they never tell you why they want you to kill someone, only that if you want to survive, you'll do it."

Ty

Smiling slightly, I looked away from her and up to the sky. "So I've heard."

OOC: That's the only way I could have her decide. o.O

Rachel
I stood up, sniffling and straighting my shirt. I walked quietly up to Ty and hesitantly cupped my hand under his chin, bringing his face down towards mine and bringing my lips to his. I felt a bit more confident now, and I guess that this was my decision.
There was so much more problems I had with Alex, and though I loved him, I wanted a normal life. I didn't want so many complications in my life. Though I knew Ty would have to leave me, he was everything I wanted.

Harley
"They sound charming." I said sarcastically.

[Callie]

Kaden

"Well, there are more pros than cons to being in the Crows, you see. They basically run Mexico, and in exchange for working for them, you get anything you like. Guilty pleasures, the best concealable armor, the best weapons, women, men... whatever it is that tickles your fancy."

Ty

I kissed her back softly, putting my hands on her waist.

Rachel
I pulled away after a few seconds, having to take a breather so I wouldn't get all panicky. Wow. I have a lot of courage today. "I think...I think I choose you," I whispered.

ooc: That sounds like it's straight from the game
Harley
I nodded. "But I wouldn't make a very good assassin."

[Callie]

OOC: It pretty much is. But if you think about it, he would need armor in case of bullets. And everything else would also be applicable. xD

Ty

"I guessed that," I whispered back, smiling a bit at her.

Kaden

I chuckled and grinned at her. "No, you wouldn't." Especially not if she felt this horrible about what had just happened. Things like that - and worse - happened daily around the Crows. More often than not, they were the ones that caused them.

Harley
"Even through all that stuff they did to me...i don't think I could have killed them." I adjusted myself in my bed. "That's how weak I am I guess."

[Callie]

Kaden

I shook my head vigorously. "Not weak. Caring, my dear. You have a heart. Something most people these days seem to be lacking."

Harley
I smiled slightly. "Thanks, Kaden. Again."

Rachel
In the back of my head, I knew that I had to start planning what I was going to tell Alex. I couldn't just outright tell him that he was bad and dangerous for me, could I? I sighed, wrapping my arms around Ty's torso and hugging him tightly, resting my head on his shoulder. Enjoy what you can. He'll be gone soon enough.

"Anytime," I said with a small smile.

Ty

"I... Rachel, before you become really... sure about this... there's something I should tell you," I muttered reluctantly.

Rachel
Crap. The talk. I stifled a sigh and unwound myself from him. "Lay it on me then," I mumbled.

[Callie]

Ty

"Before I met Nick... before I joined the band, met Slade... I had a girlfriend." I fidgeted uncomfortably. We were about to revisit memories I'd been trying to forget, but she had to know. "Her name was Erica. When we were traveling, we were... well, we were runaways. The streets weren't exactly safe, and we got... caught. But by some idiotic gang. They killed her, and I was full of adrenaline not long after that. I fought my way out somehow... it's all a blur. I just know that she's dead."

Rachel
I looked at him sadly. I wasn't sure what to say - that was an absolutely horrible thing to have to go through. I felt like such an idiot, always complaining and whining about how Alex left me when Ty had been through so much worse. "I...I'm so sorry," I managed to say, feeling stupid.

I shook my head and smiled weakly. "I just thought you should know. I mean..." I sighed. "I'm not... completely sure that I'm..."

"Over her," I whispered, finishing his sentence for him. I nodded, taking a step back and looking down at my shoes. "Right. I get it."

Ty

I nodded lamely. "I just... didn't want you to find out later and think you're a replacement or something. You're not. But... I'll... I'll understand if you wanna stop while we're ahead."

"It's not always about what I want," I mumbled. "If you don't want to...then we won't."

I shook my head. "I do. I... I wanna give this a shot. I wanna give us a shot."

I looked up at him from under my eyelashes. "Honestly?"

I just nodded.
