"Wait, wait, I thought this court case would be you against the rest of the band? Because I was going to testify for the band members you killed with your cooking."

"Well, I eat my own food, so I'd be dead, too." I was silent for a moment, and then I clapped him on the back, grinning. "Look at that! You don't have to testify after all!" I exclaimed as we reached the tour bus. I tried to not let my disappointment show. Was it bad that I still didn't want him to leave?

"What? No, you can't die! That would be a homocide and a suicide right there!" I exclaimed, grinning at her. I stopped beside her when we reached the decently large bus. "So this is it?" I stated, waiting to see what she intended on doing.

"Oh god, the things I would be charged with!" I exclaimed dramatically, then looked at the bus and nodded. "Yup." And what was I supposed to do now? Oh, right. Walk in. That would be the smart move and the next step, yes? Wrong. Instead, I found myself taking a step closer to Jake and pressing my lips against his. I didn't know what made me do it. Maybe I wanted to see what it was like when we weren't about to have sex. Maybe I just wanted to do it for the hell of it. Maybe I just wanted to kiss him in general. I didn't know, but dear god please don't let him push me away or this will be awkward...

I almost took a step back when I felt her lips on mine. I wasn't one for commited relationships, especially since our stay on Earth was only temporary. Right? I blinked at her, knowing this wasn't a kiss to lead into sex, and I was wondering why she was even doing this at all. But after a moment, I shrugged it off and wrapped my arms tightly around her waist, kissing her back with fervor.

Moments later, I broke away from his lips, staring at him with wide eyes. "I'm... I... Sorry. That was..." Glorious, "out of line. I shouldn't have..."

I stared back at her, not sure how I was supposed to feel. I shook my head. "No...it's fine," I told her slowly. "You weren't...out of line."

I raised my eyebrows in curiosity. "No?"

"Well, why would it be so crazy for you to kiss me?" I asked, tilting my head to the side slightly. "How exactly is it out of line?"

"I..." I trailed off. Because I actually like you as more than a fuck buddy didn't seem like an acceptable answer, so I didn't know. "That wasn't leading up to sex," I pointed out.

"Right...and...?" I rose my eyebrows at her, wondering what she was getting at. I didn't see what the big deal was.

"And I..." Oh, Jesus Christ, just say it. You might be leaving soon so it's totally fine if it's one-sided. Right? "like you," I finished, feeling a sudden urge to hit my head repeatedly against the door of the tour bus. It sounded like a good plan. Maybe after he left.

My eyebrows rose even higher, and after a moment, I smirked at her. "Well I'd sure hope so. It would be a bit awkward fucking and hanging out with somebody who didn't like me."

I shut my eyes in slight frustration. "I just... I mean... I like you more than I should since we're only fuck buddies," I said bluntly. There. Lay all your cards on the table, Nick. That should work. 'Coz, y'know, your goal was to scare him away.
