I reluctantly took my hands away from her, trying to ignore the swirling shapes everywhere. "But... it's supposed to... heal..." I said before I leaned forwards, passed out.

Eventually, I reached the infirmary, and set Renee down on one of the cots. One of the nurses immediately rushed over to tend to her. "What happened?" she asked me frantically.
I shrugged. "I found her passed out at the bottom of a staircase."

I frowned, wondering why she'd never told me this before. Adrian managed to reappear with a nurse. "What happened?" she asked quickly.

"Damon!" I gasped hoarsly, slowly making way towards my husband. I wrapped my arms arund him tightly and leaned forward, just praying he'd be okay. I didn't care that I was sick, or if I was possibly dying. Damon was everything to me, and I needed to be sure that he was okay. He was my number one priority, he always had been.

"Will she be okay?" I asked the nurse, arching an eyebrow at her.
She nodded slowly. "I think so. I don't know what happened, other than her falling down the stairs, so I can't tell for sure."

"You can't resist that face," Elijah pointed out with a solemn nod. I just laughed, picking an empty table to sit at. "Alright, alright, but not today." So maybe I lied... But it wasn't like I was hurting anyone or something. If I really needed to, there were always feeders nearby.

After puking my guts out, I layed on the cold tiles on the floor. I closed my eyes and took deep, calming breaths, hoping to relieve myself of any pain.

I stirred and opened my eyes, and I felt in extreme pain. My body ached all over, and I wanted to scream, however I knew that I would never be able to. I squinted my eyes shut again and I felt a tear roll down my cheek. It was the closest thing to responding to pain that I knew.

"Can we just go?" I asked anxiously, already a few steps ahead of both of them. We needed to make sure she was okay. I mean, I knew Mom was okay, but... I still worried. She was my mom; of course I worried.

I just grinned. "Agreed. Now come and get some pancakes with me, Lady Alexis," I said regally, tilting my chin up like I was the queen.

I wanted to kick and scream, and I went to move my legs - but they wouldn't budge. What the fuck? I began to become extremely worried, and looked around the room anxiously. I didn't even notice Schuyler at first, but when I did, I looked at him with desperation. Maybe he could explain to me what was going on.
