"Not the slightest idea?" I pressed.

[Louise]

ooc: Geez, you're quick.

Renee

I shook my head.

Alexis Shay

I laughed, "Oh, of course, Queen Dice."

Trent

I stared at the floor uncomfortably, "Well... We weren't exactly close in high school."

[Callie]

OOC: Rarely. xD

Schuyler

I frowned. Well, that was just great.

Dice

I just grinned at her and walked off to get some food.

Christian

I arched an eyebrow. "One-night-stand?" I guessed. If it was, why the hell was he still talking to her? You didn't just... get together with a one-night-stand.

Trent

"Something like that," I admitted. "We were sort of friends, though. She taught me how to fight."

[Callie]

Christian

I smiled briefly. "Me too."

Jaimie

I opened my eyes and breathed a sigh of relief when I realized the ghosts were gone.

[Ashley (;]

Trent

I finally calmed down when I noticed Jaimie woke back up. "Are you alright?" I asked her with a small smile.

[Louise]

Renee

"Oh, by the way, I can't feel my legs. I don't know if that's something of significance or not."

[Callie]

Jaimie

I nodded slowly. "Damon is dead when I see him," I hissed.
"And here I was, worried that you might be all scared or something when you woke up," Christian's voice said wryly.
I sat up a bit so I could look at him. "Shouldn't you be in class?"
"You're a bit more important than school, Mom."

Schuyler

"Uhh... probably," I said, and called the nurse over. She immediately started asking Renee a ton of questions, but only a few were actually about her legs.

[Louise]

Renee

I nodded and shook my head when neccersary, and gave the occasional "are you stupid" look to the nurse when she made no sense. Eventually, she stopped asking the goddamn questions and declared she was going to find the GP. I frowned once she was out of sight; she was extremely annoying.

[Callie]

Schuyler

I smiled weakly. "Sorry about that."

[Louise]

Renee

"It's alright." I shrugged and turned to Schuyler, smiling slightly at him.

[Callie]

Schuyler

I just smiled back and went silent.

[Ashley (;]

Trent

I smirked a bit. Same old Jaimie. "Baker, you looked close to death there. Not to mention it's lunch break."

[Louise]

Renee

After sitting there in silence for a while, a doctor came over and started asking me the exact same questions the nurse did before. I frowned and answered them again, and then I was informed that the only way to bring feeling back into my legs was to have surgury on my spine. I picked up the whiteboard marker and scrawled on the board, "Can you fix my voice while you're at it?"

[Callie]

Schuyler

I looked up in shock at the doctor. "Isn't spinal surgery... really... well, risky, though?"

Jaimie

"Right," I muttered and nodded a bit. "I wasn't close to death," I added stubbornly.
"Mom, you passed out," Christian pointed out dully.
I folded my arms. "It's not like... Well, it doesn't matter. It wasn't that bad. Just a bit of... Damon overusing his powers. Dumb bastard." I also knew that this was bad; Damon never used his element very much unless something bad happened.

[Louise]

Renee

"Well, yeah," the doctor replied, "it is. But in all honesty, we've got nothing to lose if something stuffs up, considering the condition of Renee's legs already." He stopped to face me. "You are 16, right?" he asked.
"As of last month, yeah."
"Well, it's really up to you whether you want to go through it or not."
I sat there and thought about it. "I want you to consult with my parents before I make any decisions," I declared.

*waiting for doctor to consult the parental units*

[Louise]

ooc: *just remembered the parental units are practically dead* Crap. >.>

Trent

"I still think you should stay here for a while," I told her with a slight nod. "... What happens when someone overuses their powers?"

[Callie]

Jaimie

I grimaced. "Christian, could you...?"
"Yeah, sure," he mumbled and left the room.
I looked back up to Trent reluctantly. "Damon has this... theory. The spirit's supposed to drive him crazy, but since we have the bond, the crazy leaks through it, to me. And I... see ghosts. They're angry, and they're just... well, it's almost like they're attacking me. Usually, I can keep them under control and away, but sometimes, they slip through."

Trent

I stared at her with wide eyes. For some reason I felt angry with Damon for sticking all this on her, but if he hadn't done something, she would have been dead still. "... Ghosts? What do they... do?"

[Louise]

Rosetta

I relunctantly opened my eyes when the phone started to ring. Damon was still unconcious, so I groaned and slowly made my way to the telephone on my end desk. I grabbed the phone and tried to steady my shaking hands, before bringing it to my ear. "Hello?" I asked, gulping slightly when my voice became hoarse.
"Hello," the unfamiliar voice said. He began to explain who he was and why he was calling, but I lost focus and could not remember much of the conversation. "... and we'd like to have the all clear to do so."
"Wait, what?"
"For Renee," I was informed, and my eyes widened in shock. "She fell down the stairs and has lost feeling in her legs, and we'd like the all clear to give her surgery."
I was dreading something like this would happen - dammit, Renee must have been in my mind while I was sick... or perhaps while I was unconcious. It explains a lot of what the man on the phone was talking about... shit! If Renee was in my mind and got hurt, what about Jaimie? Damon wasn't responsive, was she? I hoped that she was okay.

[Callie]

Jaimie

"They... well, they talk a lot. It's almost like they're screaming. It's very annoying; if you experienced it, you'd understand why I try to keep them away," I told him with a faint smile.

[Ashley (;]

Trent

I frowned a bit, "Can't you just tell Damon to knock it off or something?"

[Callie]

Jaimie

I shook my head. "The bond's one way, and when it's going on, I'm... not exactly... in my right state of mind to pick up the phone and tell him to knock it the hell off."

[Ashley (;]

Trent

"That's an excellent trade for your life. You're stuck with ghosts and randomly passing out whenever he feels like it," I muttered. I wasn't quite sure why I felt so mad at him right now, but he probably had something to do with the fact he was almost killing Jaimie, even if it was an accident.

[Louise]

Rosetta

"So, is it alright?"
I blinked a couple of times and came back to earth. "Yeah, if it's what needs to be done," I answered. "Do you know if Jaimie Baker is nearby?"
"How come?"
"I just need to talk to her."
After a brief hesitation, I heard the doctor say something about getting her, and I began to wait. I brought the phone away from my ear as I felt a sharp pain in my stomach again, and I leaned over and vomitted on the floor. It was disgusting.

[Callie]

OOC: I'm gonna assume he hasn't gotten Jaimie yet.

Jaimie

I simply shrugged. "It's better than being dead," I pointed out wryly.

Trent

I let out a sigh and sat down on the bed, wrapping my arms around her tightly. "Try not almost die again, okay?" I asked with a small smirk. "I'd have to beat the hell out of your Spirit Buddy."
