"Oh thanks for the offer, but I'm perfectly capable of protecting myself," I said jogging after him, and looking up at the sky. Usually it was perfectly sunny here and I had a reason for my sunglasses, but today just decided to be cloudy. Damn.
Blade
It took me by surprise but it didn't show on my face. "How'd you know that?" I asked looking back down at the desk.

[Callie]

Harmony

My eyes followed her gaze and I smirked slightly. Go for it.

Vincent

"Yeah? Actually, I can believe that. But I have to ask what's with the sunglasses. You might not have noticed because of them, but there's no sun out," I told her with a small smile.

Hayden

I laughed. "You really need to brush up on your research skills," I said lightly. "I can read minds."

[Emmy]

Smokkey
"It's for reasons...that will remain unknown to you....But if we get in trouble down in the slums you'll see why."
Blade
"It's not like I wanted this job," I mumbled.

[Callie]

Hayden

"This one in particular or any of them?" I asked with an amused smile, coloring in my cartoon strip.

Vincent

I raised an eyebrow. "If you say so. And we just might... it is the slums, after all."

[Emmy]

Blade
"Any of them..." I murmured.
Smokkey
"Yeah, I'm aware," I said curtly, adjusting my glasses a little.

[Callie]

Vincent

I smiled, but didn't say anything.

Hayden

"Yeah," I said, nodding. "You could quit, though. Be a normal teenager and get a temporary job as a telemarketer until you graduate from high school," I told him, grinning.

Smokkey
I walked in silence too; I had no problem with it, at all.
Blade
I smiled. "You think I can just quit? They'd torture and kill me before I did that."

[Callie]

OOC: *has no idea what to post for Vincent, since he's okay with walking in silence too*

Hayden

"Then kill them first," I said, like it was the simplest solution in the world. Actually, to me, it was pretty crystal-clear. Sometimes life was survival of the fittest, and if you wanted to stay alive, you had to kill others. That was just how it went.

Alyssa

'Fine, but you better actually pay attention if you don't want to fail. Your mom might not give you a lecture, but my mom will,' I teased before walking over to a seat next to the new guy. "Hey, I'm Alyssa."

Harmony

I stuck my tongue out at her back, resisting the urge to roll my eyes when the teacher reprimanded us.

Isaiah

I raised an eyebrow at the girl, but smiled slightly anyways. "I'm Isaiah."

Blade
"Like I'd be able to do that." I said looking away from her. "I may be trained, but how do you expect me to kill 10 trained men at once?"
Smokkey
"Why do you hang out with those guys if you're not like them?" I asked suddenly.

[Callie]

Vincent

I shrugged. "They're cool. Sometimes. You don't get much excitement around here, and that's what they do."

Hayden

"I could help you," I told him seriously.

Georgia

I smirked. "Yeah, duh. I'm slow when I'm tired."

[Emmy]

Smokkey
I nodded, like I understood. I really didn't, what was wrong with peaceful silence?
Blade
"Two against ten, sounds fair," I said sarcastically.

[Callie]

Hayden

I rolled my eyes. "Never mind, then. I'm a lot more powerful than you give me credit, though, and it could work."

Tegan

I laughed. "I guess that's a good excuse."
The teacher rapped on her desk. "Miss Phillips, Miss Adams, are you finished talking?"
"Yes, ma'am," I mumbled, resisting the urge to roll my eyes.

Vincent

I smiled a bit to myself; I could tell she didn't get it, but I didn't say anything. Honestly, I didn't really understand it myself.

Blade
"Fine then. Think up a plan, and I'll see if it's do-able."
Smokkey
When we finally came to the slums, I tried not to look too dumbstruck. Mom and Dad (especially Dad) never let me come down here before. I hadn't realized how bad it actually was.

[Callie]

Hayden

"I suck with plans. But I think the first course of action would be to look up your family line."

Vincent

I grinned as I looked over to her. "You don't come here much, do you?"

[Emmy]

Smokkey
"Uhhh...that would be a no." I said looking back over at him and smiling weakly.
Blade
"Family line?" I asked, confused.

[Callie]

OOC: *totally just realized Blade is only doing this to gain Hayden's trust*

Hayden

"You know, the people you're related to." I smirked slightly. "Never know, you might have some witch blood in you, and I could teach you some, uh, parlor tricks."

Vincent

I smiled back. "It's not that bad. Most of the people are nice. The ones that aren't usually come out at night - you really don't want to be here, then. Otherwise, it should be okay."

I chuckled slightly before managing to shut up. I shot Tegan a glance and I almost begun to laugh again.

"So... You're a vampire?" I asked teasingly.

[Callie]

Tegan

I looked down at my desk, biting my lip to keep from laughing. "You're not helping," I said to Georgia under my breath, smirking.

Isaiah

"I'm Chuck Norris in disguise, actually," I replied with a slight smirk. "And you?"

Alyssa

"I don't get what's so great about Chuck Norris. Me? I'm a Jedi," I told him with a serious nod.

"Well, Chuck Norris is God, but y'know, Jedis are like kickass guardian angels," I told her matter-of-factly.

I pretended to think for a moment and shook my head, "No. That'd make you more kickass than me."

I smirked. "Nah, no witchy blood in me. Got some wolf, though."
Smokkey
"That's good. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere at night, though, my dad's so overprotective of me." I sighed.

Vincent

"That sucks. I guess I understand why, though." I smiled slightly.

Hayden

"Oh. Well, I can't teach you anything with that, though it might be helpful. Couldn't you just go all wolfy on them and scratch their eyes out, all Happy Tree Friends episode or something?"

Isaiah

"What, that I'm God and you're just a kickass guardian angel?"

Georiga

"Well, when someone tells you to be quiet you can't stay quiet, it's impossible." I smirked slightly.

I looked at him skeptically. "You can?"
Blade
"I could, but then they'd realize I was going to fight them and cast some random spell to make me go back to human form. Unfortunately, they are warlocks and witches."

[Callie]

Vincent

I nodded. "Yup."

Hayden

I made a face. "Well, that's stupid." Probably mostly warlocks, with their Horned God and evil and... blah.

Tegan

"Sometimes it is."
