Secrets & Fire 3: The Fortunate

Hayden

I had a feeling she knew Dad was at work, but whatever. What Smokkey got up to when she skipped school wasn't any of my business, just like when I skipped, it wasn't any of hers. As long as she was safe, I wouldn't ask about it and I'd keep my mouth shut. I got my things from my locker and headed off to my art class.

Zephyr

I'd gotten to my biology class about five minutes ago after leaving Tristan to flirt with some other girls, and had pretty much all but fallen asleep, when I heard whispering. Stupid cheerleaders. They just had to talk about me when I was trying to sleep. I took my book and slammed it down on my desk, making them jump and then shut up. Thank you.

Vincent

I just sort of sat there, behind the school, feeling out of place as my friends did pot and smoked cigarettes. I'd been resting my eyes when Jason tapped me on the shoulder. "Dunno about you, but we're gonna go check out that old guy that's new in town," he told me, taking a drag of his cigarette.
I nodded. "I'm in."

Smokkey
I took out my cell phone and walked around to the back of the school, ignoring the guys smoking back there. When Dad didn't answer his cell phone like I knew he wouldn't, I just said quietly, so the guys couldn't hear, "Dad, I'm not feeling great, so I won't be at school." I shut it and stuffed the phone back into my pocket.
Emerson
I got my stuff for biology and trudged off to the class, still sleepy. I took the seat next to Zephyr. "Hey," I said to her with a grin.

Zephyr

I yawned and reluctantly lifted my head from my desk. "You're lucky I like you, ya know. Otherwise, I'd keep in position and not open my eyes," I joked. "Morning, Emerson."

Vincent

"Hey..." one of the guys said, going over to the girl that suddenly appeared. I'd seen her around and vaguely recognized her. "How about - "
"Lee, leave her."
He turned to look at me slowly, which probably took a lot of effort; he was stoned. "We're just talkin'."
"Right," I said sarcastically. I knew how Lee was when he was stoned - he'd once told us about how he raped someone before, and I didn't want that to happen to anyone.
"Stay out of my business, Martino," he growled, turning back to the girl. "What's your name?"

Smokkey
I turned and looked at the guy. "You think I'd tell you that?" I said defiantly. They seemed to give off the dangerous vibe though; I put a hand on my sunglasses just in case I had to use my power again today.
Emerson
My hood fell backwards off my head, revealing a bedhead. I scrambled to get it back on my head. "As you can tell, I'm way tired too."
Blade
"Why is it amusing?" I asked with a glare. He just chuckled.
"Hayden Moore is the daughter of Drew Moore, you bumbling idiot." I blinked. Well, shit.

[Callie]

Vincent

"See, Lee? She doesn't wanna talk to you anyways. Let's just go."
He glared at me. "Martino, why the fuck would I listen to you?"
"I'll buy you a fucking carton of cigarettes. Let's go, though. I hate school."
He looked reluctant, but he left the girl alone and walked back over to the rest of us. "Least we're in agreement there, Vince. Okay. Let's go. I'll leave the skirt alone."
I rolled my eyes at him, but started to walk, glancing back occasionally to make sure he was following me. He was, though not very happily. Or easily.

Zephyr

I stifled laughter. "Oh, your hair looks great today." I smirked.

[Emmy]

Smokkey
I watched them go, silently thanking that one guy. Vince, they called him? That's what I thought they said...I walked the other way so when teachers came back here to search for skippers they wouldn't find me in a cloud of cigarette smoke. That would go over well with Dad.
Emerson
"I know, right?" I smirked. "I overslept. So I had no time for my hair."
Blade
"Do I go to highschool today, then?" I asked him. He nodded. "The easiest way to do this job would be to get to know her, and then when she trusts you, kill her." I nodded and walked off to school.

[Callie]

Zephyr

"Aww. I'll do it for you, if you want. Maybe I have a sparkly barrette in my pocket for you," I teased.

Vincent

"Okay, take your pick," I said once we were in the store. Lee grabbed a carton of cigarettes and I shelled out the money for them. God, they were expensive... that girl owed me. About forty bucks.
"Thanks, Martino. I'm out, then," he said, and walked out of the store. I rolled my eyes and looked around in the store.

Hayden

I set my things down and worked on my cartoon strip that we'd been assigned a few days ago. We had one strip to work with, and we had to recreate it on a bigger piece of paper, but keep it looking the same with the outline and everything. Mine was Snoopy, and I was sort of behind everyone else, as I was was still outlining.

[Emmy]

Smokkey
I realized I was almost out of hair dye. That would be tragic, I thought with a smirk. I entered the nearby convenience store and went straight to the cosmetics department, looking around for orange and yellow.
Emerson
I laughed loudly. "As much as I'd like that, I don't think you'll be able to tame the hair."
Blade
I entered my next class and immediately spotted Hayden Moore. Since there were barely any other seats I took one next to her and looked down at my school stuff. God, I hated school.

Hayden

I looked at my picture and tilted my head, realized that my Snoopy looked like a cockroach on steroids. I gave up and decided to color it and leave it that way. I didn't even know why I took art. I looked at the giuy next to me; he looked familar. I noticed his look and smirked slightly. "You don't wanna be here either?" I asked as the bell rang, signaling that anyone who entered their classroom after this was late and classes were starting.

Zephyr

"You'd be surprised," I muttered with a grin as the teacher shushed everyone and started rambling on about something I didn't particularly care about, and especially not this early in the morning.

Vincent

I eventually found a bag of chips that I wanted and paid for those up at the counter too, wondering where I should go now. Probably the slums. No one there cared if you weren't in school. They just wanted to kidnap, murder, or rape you. But I'd been there before and I knew I could hold my own.

Dennis

I walked into my classroom and sat down on an empty seat, yawning slightly.

Georgia

I exited the bathroom after applying some more mascara. I had physics now, which I hated. Most subjects were durable but not physics. I entered the classroom and sat down.

Lucas

I started walking back to the school after taking a quick smoke. I really had to quit that stuff, I was getting really obsessed.

[Emmy]

Emerson
I gave another huge yawn, and tried not to smile as the teacher glared at me.
Smokkey
I settled for just orange and went up to the counter, noticing the guy who had steered the other ones away from me earlier. "Hi," I said quietly. 'Thanks."
Blade
"No fuckin' way would I want to be here," I said with a smirk.

[Callie]

OOC: O: Oh right. Tegan and Georgia need to be friends.

Tegan

I sat down at a seat in physics, wondering if we'd actually be doing anything interesting today. Not likely.

Zephyr

I smirked slightly and leaned back in my chair, pretending to listen to the teacher and watch, but I'd mastered the art of sleeping with my eyes open a long time ago.

Vincent

I turned to see the girl from earlier and nodded slightly. "No problem."

Hayden

I grinned a bit. "I doubt many people do," I said, coloring the background blue and pointing to Snoopy. "What does that look like to you?"

[Emmy]

Emerson
For the sake of not getting caught sleeping, I started to doodle on my notebook. Everything I'd drawn looked stupid, yes, but I didn't care.
Smokkey
I paid for the stuff and looked up at him through my sunglasses. "My name's Smokkey Moore, but don't tell your so-called buddy that."
Blade
After looking at it for a second I gained a confused look on my face. "What's it supposed to be?"

[Callie]

Hayden

"Snoopy. I think it looks like an overgrown cockroach, though. I might have to tell her it's some sort of unpublished cartoon," I said with a shrug.

Vincent

I smirked. "I won't. I'm Vincent Martino, by the way. You can call me Vince, if you want."

[Emmy]

Blade
"Yeah, I somehow think a cockroach won't pass for Snoopy." I said with a smirk. "You're farther then me, though, since I didn't even bother with the stupid project."
Smokkey
"okay, Vince...but you're not allowed to call me Smokk." I smiled. "Only people I trust have that high honor." I said, but sarcastically.

Gerogia

I looked up as Tegan walked into the classroom. I waved at her.

OOC: Well, I meant they'd have to make friends, but sure. xD That works.

Tegan

I waved back at her, thought for a moment, then sat down next to her. "Hey," I mumbled.

Hayden

"Aww, well, that's no fun. Go on, let's see if you can do a better Snoopy than me," I teased, grinning at him.

Vincent

I smiled. "I'll make sure I don't. Are you skipping today, too?"

Alyssa

I rolled my eyes, "Wow..."
Blaze smirked slightly and parked the car.
"Aloha," Crystelle muttered, hopping out of the car.

[Emmy]

Smokkey
"Yup...dunno where I'm going next, though." I shrugged.
Blade
"....Fine." I said with a sigh, and took my notebook out, doodling a little Snoopy. Although he didn't look perfect, he at least resembled a dog.

"Hey," I replied. "I didn't know you had physics."

Hayden

I made a face. "Now that's just not fair."

Vincent

"You can come with me, if you want. I'm heading for the slums."

Harmony

"Hey," I said defensively, "I'm forward like that. Do you have english, too, Lyss? I'm having a mind blank."

Tegan

I nodded. "Well, I do. Obviously." I grinned at her a bit.

Alyssa

I shrugged, shutting the car door as I got out, "Whatever class you had for first period."

[Callie]

Harmony

"Then you have english," I said cheerily, then made a face; the parking lot was utterly empty. "We're late."

[Emmy]

Smokkey
I thought about it for a moment. "...Sure..." I said a bit uncertainly, stuffing the bottle of hair stuff in my sweatshirt pocket.
Blade
I grinned. "I'm just that awesome."

OOC: Emmy must have forgotten too, but I can edit if the need arises. >.>

Hayden

"You know... you're not acting very much like a trained assassin," I said thoughtfully.

Vincent

"Don't worry, I'll protect you there, too," I said teasingly, heading out of the door of the convenience store.

Alyssa

"Great," Blaze muttered as he got out of the car with us. "Like we need another reason for the English teacher to hate us."
"People don't hate me Blaze, I'm a cheerleader. It's literally impossible," I told him innocently before linking arms with Harmony and dragging her with me.

[Callie]

Harmony

"However, I don't have the luxury of being a cheerleader," I mumbled as I was dragged along. "And now I'm gonna fail, because last week when you were absent, Jay shoved me into the room while I was high." I made a face, reminding myself to kill Alyssa's cousin later.

[Ashley (;]

Blaze

"No offense, Lyssa, but the whole cheerleading squad is a bunch of sluts. The teacher may like you guys, but the rest of the school hates you," I told her bluntly.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Blaze, but not everyone in school stereotypes. For instance, not everyone likes you playing the guitar. Some people think you suck," she shot back and stepped into class.

Harmony

I looked between the two of them, and made a face. Harsh on both their parts. "Excuse me," some guy (Isaiah) murmured as he pushed past me. I came back to my senses and sat down inside the room.

Alyssa

I glanced up and sat near Harmony. 'He's really hot. That guy over there, not Blaze.'
