Secrets & Fire 3: The Fortunate

"Good morning," I said with a smirk at him, heading off to school.
"Morning, Dennis," Tristan muttered reluctantly.
"Hey," Hailie Jade and Zephyr chirped in unison.

Dennis

I smiled over my shoulder to the three in the backseat. "How is everyone today?"

[Callie]

Tristan

"I'm asleep," I answered.
"Good," answered Hailie Jade.
I thought about telling her how I could make her day better, but decided now wasn't the time.
"Tired," said Zephyr.

Tegan

I grinned at Dennis. "I'm spectacular," I said sarcastically. "How about you? What did you do last night? Or do I not wanna know?"

Dennis

"Maybe you do, but probably not. So I'm gonna tell you anyway, I met a girl," I grinned at her.

[Callie]

Tegan

"Oh dear," I said dramatically. "Hot date? Are you gonna bring her to your guys's band practice tonight so I can tell her embarrassing stories?"

[alex]

Dennis

"Nope, she's busy tonight," I said with a shrug. "I'm meeting her on Saturday." I stayed silent for a few moments. "Actually, I lied about her being busy. I'm not letting her come tonight because you'll scare her away," I joked and poked her side.

[Callie]

Tegan

"Pshh. Would I do that to you? Besides, you didn't scare Darren away when you met him, so I think I owe you. Sort of."

Dennis

"Of course I didn't scare him away when I went through all that trouble of paying him to date you." I laughed and winked at her.

[Emmy]

Smokkey
"Um, powers, le duh." I said sarcastically trying to wrench them out of her hands. It wasn't working.

Alyssa

"Oh, so now you don't want to be my sister?" I asked in mock hurt. Crystelle was too busy typing away on her iPhone to be a part of the conversation. I missed when she was that little toddler running around the house. Now... Now she was one of the Fortunates. I still loved her to death, but something told me she wouldn't be the same if she'd grown up normally.

"Well, I do, but your brother's pretty hot," I said bluntly.

Tegan

"Oh, sure, you did. How much did you pay him?" I smirked.

Hayden

"Nope, nope, nope. I'm keeping them until we get to school," I said with a grin, rushing off the porch and starting the walk to school.

Isaiah

I turned off the radio in the car and locked it, then headed inside, going into the office to get my schedule, yawning. It was way too early to be in school. I knew I should've been late on purpose and not come until like noon.

Georgia

Somehow, I managed to get to school in time. I'd tried a different way and apparently it was a shortcut. I slowed by pace as I walked inside and went toward my locker. I put on some more blush and lip gloss before grabbing the books I needed.

Dennis

"25 bucks, give or take a little, I don't remember exactly."

Smokkey
I narrowed my eyes and sprinted after her. "Do you want somebody to die? Namely, YOU?" I yelled at her.

[Callie]

Hayden

"What makes you think I'm gonna die?" I asked her, raising an eyebrow. "You wouldn't kill me, Smokk. You might act like you hate me, but you love me too much to kill me."

OOC: Hayden doesn't know about Smokkey's powers.

Tegan

I laughed. "You shoulda given him more than that. This is me we're dealing with, remember?" I joked.

Vincent

I kicked my locker to get it to open and grabbed a few things out of it, debating if I should even go to class. I didn't really want to.

Lucas is a real flirt, he can't help it. It's just his nature. Other than that, he is really sweet and is always in a good mood. When Lucas is in a bad mood, you know something messed up has happened.

I walked through the entrance and walked toward my locker. To think that I'd only gone to this school for two weeks... I still felt like a newbie, especially since I didn't know anyone. Well, maybe it was better this way.

Dennis

"Oh, that was just the first payment. I pay him 40 bucks for every week you go out."

Smokkey
I sighed exasperatedly. "With one look into your eyes I can make you do anything I want you too...happy I told you, now?" I said grumpily.

[Callie]

Hayden

"Not really. I don't believe you," I said simply.

Tegan

"Oh, ha ha," I said, rolling my eyes at him as I parked the car. "File out," I called cheerfully, and they did, all three of them walking off to class. Well, except Tristan. He walked off to a group of girls to flirt with.

I fast walked so I was ahead of her and pushed the school doors open. "Do you really want to feel being controlled like that?" I asked her critcally.

"No, but I don't think that's your power," I told her seriously, keeping the glasses in my back pocket.

Vincent

I decided to go and sit on a bench or something outside for now. Until the bell rang. Okay, that was a lie, I was going to go and hang out with my friends.

Hayden

I turned slightly as a guy pushed past us (Vincent), muttering, "Excuse me." I grinned at Smokkey, wondering if she saw how hot he was, too. I had to wonder why I hadn't seen him around; he didn't look much older than me.

OOC: Sorry. He was at his locker, so a brief encounter was all I could do. And you're not being demanding. xD

I smirked. "So what class do you have?" I asked her curiously.

I glanced at him as he walked past. I'd noticed him around before. Then I took a deep breath and looked up at Hayden, staring into her eyes. I felt the normal little ache at first, and then the pain exploded, it was so much I couldn't talk. But through it I made Hayden give the glasses back to me. As soon as I shut my eyes to shut off the connection I fell backwards, glasses in hand and weak.

Hayden

I kind of blanked out for a minute, but when I came back to my senses, Smokkey was falling backwards and she had her glasses in hand. I grinned to myself. Apparently she was telling the truth. I quickly caught her before she hit the ground and helped her up. "Hey. I'm sorry... you alright?"

Tegan

"Physics," I said with a grin. "You?"

Smokkey
Before I opened my eyes I struggled to put the glasses on and finally succeeed. "Truthfully, no," I said, though a smirk was on my face.

Hayden

"Touche. Am I almost forgiven, since I saved you from cracking your head open on the floor?" I asked, pulling her up.

Dennis

"English," I said with a groan. "Meet you at lunch?"

[Callie]

Tegan

"Will do," I chirped. "Sit with me, and you can bring the girl you met if you want. Unless she doesn't go here."

Dennis

I shook my head. "She's a graduate," I said proudly before grabbing my backpack and heading inside the school. I rarely went to my locker because I had everything in my bag. I walked toward my classroom instead.

[Emmy]

Smokkey
I pretended to think. "I'll get back on you with that one," I said with a grin. "Either way, I think I'm gonna go home. As the reason for the shades, I have no control over those, and I get really tired..." Lie, Smokkey, but she doesn't know that, does she? I was only tired for a few minutes after I did that.
Blade
"Are you sure she's the next one on the list?" She'd be too easy... he raised an eyebrow at me. "Yes. Is there a problem? Are you intimate with her? Shall I remind you how we punish for that type of thing?" I pulled a disgusted face. "No. She goes to my high school. It'll be too easy...after all the work I've done I expect a challenge." He just grinned. "You think Hayden Moore will be easy. How amusing."
Emerson
After making myself presentable I threw my backpack in the car and got in, driving off to school.

I smirked slightly and got my things, then headed off to psychics, wondering if it'd be interesting at all.

Isaiah

After I got my schedule, I noticed I had english first. I decided to drop my stuff off at my locker first, then bring what I needed to my english class. Well, it could be worse. I could have calculus first.

Hayden

I shrugged. "If you insist. What are you gonna tell Mom?" I asked her with a grin.

"I'm gonna call Dad and tell him first," I said with a triumphant smirk. "Anyway, seeya later, Hayden." I told her and walked out of the school, wondering where I should go. If she thought I was going home, I most definitely wasn't.

When I parked my car I gave a huge yawn and sat there for a minute. Then I got out with my stuff and looked around for Zephyr.
