I smiled faintly at her. "I got the general idea. I'm only slightly better at French than he is," I admitted, finishing off my plate. If she wanted someone to speak French with, she'd have to ask Lilith; she was the one into that stuff. Lilith was good with French, but not an expert, and she hadn't begun learning until she was thirteen... In other words, much after Celeste had learned how to do so. "Right, right," Caleb muttered, the flush in his cheeks slowly retreating. In all honesty, I wasn't sure I wanted to know.
Amity
I stared at the spot next to him as if it were going to explode any moment now. Was he serious? "I... yes," I said, though I nearly hit myself in the face from my utter stupidity. Sure, sit next to him and give him more time to talk to you, thus giving you more time to embarrass yourself. I needed to calm down. Not that focusing on the two boys on his other side would help that. It might have if they were not attractive, but sadly, they were, too. Actually, they looked... I could not say. But their appeal certainly was not of the normal sort. Bridge's, on the other hand...

I couldn't help but smile at the thought of my Summer. "It was the best, as always," I began, buttering my bread roll and taking a small bite. "Dyado Viktor taught me the Wronski Feint and even discussed the old team's special move a bit, which I hope will do wonders for the Ravenclaw team this year." I beamed widely as images of our team winning the Quidditch Cup raced through my mind. Last year we suffered a humiliating defeat from Gryffindor after a two-year winning streak, and I was determined to take the title back. Quidditch was the one thing that I had passion for... I always blamed Dyado for this.

Raven
I smiled faintly as Alina went on about her summer. Mine had been... well, uneventful, as usual. It might not have been so bad if I had someone to play Quidditch with or something, but muggles just weren't very good at it. Not that I'd tried; it was more of a gut feeling. But still. Maybe Alina was right, though; maybe we'd win the Quidditch Cup this year. We could hope, right? And train. Train hard. Not to mention with a Wronski Feint, we could be even better. "Couldn't you teach the rest of the team to do one, too?" I asked her curiously. I mean, if she could, that would be even better. It was a tricky move, and if every single one of us could do it...

Somehow I had ended up on the wrong end of the table. Well, that's what I get for being one of the last to arrive. I sat up straight, almost rising from my seat, I tried to spy across the table to see if I saw any of my friends there. And I did. I grabbed my plate, which I had all ready stuffed with food, and carefully balanced it over to the other side of the room. I cleared my throat and a few people looked up at me before scooting over and letting me sit down. I smiled thankfully at my friend before chowing down on a buttered toast. People were blabbering on around me, speaking of their summers and what else they had been up to. I half-listened to a conversation a few of my friends had about a Quidditch game they had watched. And shortly an argument arose, since they did not cheer for the same team.
Madeleine
I carefully sipped on my orange juice as I curiously looked around the room. Everyone was so busy and everyone had so much to say. They practically barfed out the words. I supposed after a few months apart, exciting events stored up and when you finally met everything just came up at once and you jabbered on for hours. Of course it seemed to go both ways and I wondered if anyone was actually listening to what they other one was saying. But still, there was smiles on almost everyone's faces and the hall was filled with cheerful chattering and knives and forks scraping on plates.

I shrugged. "It's mainly a seeker move, but I'm sure we can enforce it into other tactics too." Raven was pretty much like family to me, and she made me feel comfortable and like I belonged. As the seeker of the team, there was a sense of glamour that I was attached to - in my house's eyes, at least. Over-competive students from the other houses sometimes thought I was the most foul member of the team, some even like to sneer and say that the only reason I'm even on the team is because my dyado is the famous Viktor Krum. No one really wanted to be my friend; people either thought I was filth or I was untouchable. I guess that's why I liked Raven so much - she treated me like an equal.

Celeste "That's right; I forgot. Well, you should both get better at it! Lilith is the best at pseaking French, though." I frowned. "Where is she, anyway? I haven't hugged her. I don't want her to feel left out." Bridge "So, why did you come to Hogwarts this year instead?" I asked, trying to make conversation. She looked pretty embarassed. Oops. Maybe I was taking the wrong approach? Pemberley I smiled. "I wouldn't say I was stuck with you." I said honestly. I wasn't that mean.

I gave a small laugh. "Well I can be kinda mean sometimes, as you can tell from what I did to those two earlier," I said jokingly and nodded toward the girls at the other end of the table. They were now just laughing amongst themselves.

River
The corners of my lips quirked up as I turned back around and picked up my goblet of pumpkin juice. "Oh, I'm sure she's around here somewhere... breaking hearts, you know." Lilith was the only one out of the three of us that really put her Veela heritage to good use. Sure, it wasn't optional, but Lil was the only one that actually used it against people. All Caleb and I did was stand around and look pretty - nothing too incredibly thrilling. Then again, that was what happened when you were a Slytherin, I guessed. Dad and Mum hadn't been too pleased about that one, though they'd tried to pretend it didn't matter. I was sure all three of us could tell that they wanted their triplets to all get into Gryffindor, though. I knew Lilith sometimes felt horrible about being the black sheep - the letdown, even though Dad and Mum assured her she wasn't. And of course she wouldn't listen to my reasoning. Why should she?
Amity
There it was. The inevitable question that I had somehow managed to forget about. "I... needed a change of scenery," I told him, nodding slowly. I was, by no stretch of the imagination, a great liar, but it would be wonderful if I could pull this one off. I did not want to think about Lottie and the hippogriff incident. It might sound funny out of context, but she was bloodied and buried now, and it most definitely was not funny. They were supposed to be safe, but Lottie had always been too rebellious for her own good, and she had provoked the monster. I thought they were beautiful before... No. I could not think about that or I would begin to cry. Instead I turned around and reached for a roll. The fact that this was not my table certainly would not stop me.
Raven
I nodded a bit, trying to get the name to match up with the action. The Wronski Feint... yeah, that was the move where you started off really high in the air and flew to the ground at top speed... but stopped right before you hit the grass. I'd always thought that that was pretty impressive. "Yeah - last minute avoidance of a bludger if I'm not around," I told her with a grin. That was my job as beater... to beat the things that were trying to hit my teammates. And those things that were trying to hit my teammates were the bludgers. And the occasional opponent, but I'd been restricted from hitting opponents... like everyone else. Except especially me because the last time I hit a kid was third year and he lost a few teeth. It wasn't my fault that he was trying to drive my teammate into the ground! I couldn't help it that I'd had my bat right on hand and I was really close to him.

OOC: I replied in my mind. Name: Ezra Fletcher Gender: Male Age: 16 years old House: Gryffindor Year: 6 Picture: Personality/Bio: Notorious for pranks of all sorts, along with miscellaneous objects that are made for no other reason than to entertain, Ezra is a tad infamous. He's a really friendly guy that's extremely easy to get along with, and, for this reason, he has lots of friends - even some from different Houses! He's very charming and somehow manages to get away with more things than some of the other students even though he is the biggest troublemaker. Ezra can be a very sweet guy if he wants to, but sometimes he can also be the biggest jerk you've ever met... but that doesn't happen often. Actually, the boy is a bit of a heartthrob around Hogwarts, and doesn't he know it. Mostly he uses it to make friends, though no one's exactly sure how that process works. Ezra is a huge joker, and the day when you can get him to take something seriously is something huge and a job well done on your part. Ezra's parents were a wizard and a witch, so he's a pureblood, but he doesn't discriminate. He grew up around other magical folk, so this obviously isn't all new to him like it is to some of the children going to Hogwarts. His parents have been together for eighteen years and they've always been happy. Some would say that Ezra has a perfect life, and they'd be right. There's not really anything more he could ask for in it. This year, he's even got a younger sister coming into Hogwarts, and he's rather excited to get to see her for more than a few months on his break. Distinguishing Marks: He has gray eyes that can seem like they see right through you sometimes. Skills: N/A. Other: I'll probably make his sister eventually. Unless someone else wants to. But siriusly, just tell me if you want to. EzraFalling asleep on the train ride was never the smartest move, but I'd done it again, and once again, the conductor was yelling at me while I changed into my robes and I wasn't listening. Absentmindedly, I thought to myself about how this happened nearly every year. Maybe I should try to get more sleep the night before coming here. Okay, that was a lie because I always got about two hours max sleep the night before my trip back to Hogwarts because I was so excited. But still. I could at least wake up in time to change and get off the train with the rest of the students. When the conductor was done rambling, I started running for the school, glad to see that the school's caretaker, Mr. Finnegan, was waiting for me. I grinned at him, but he just shut his eyes and mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like, "Why do I work here?" We walked together in silence before finally reaching the castle, and I had to walk myself into the Great Hall. Since everyone was talking and eating, it didn't seem like anyone noticed me, so I jogged over to my table and took a seat next to a new girl with bright red hair (Madeleine). "How's it going?" I asked her cheerfully, looking around at everyone else. Wait a second... Why did they have yellow on their robes? I looked around curiously before it hit me that I wasn't fully awake yet, so I was actually sitting at the Hufflepuff table. Oh well. I'd already attempted to start a conversation, so I couldn't very well leave now, could I?

OOC: Go for it, if you want to. If you don't want to, I think Emmy was going to. RavenIt actually took me a minute to understand why she was holding her hand up in the air, and then I blinked and highfived her. Right. "I have them occasionally," I told her with a slight smile, finishing off the last of my dinner.

Ooc:I TOLD YOU CALLIE. Somebody else would want to. xD Steph, go ahead :] Bridge I studied her face as she spoke. I could tell that what she said wasn't the truth at all. But I'd only just met her; I didn't need to know everything. Instead, I chose to smile. "Well, you can't get much more different from Beauxbatons to Hogwarts." Celeste I frowned. "I'll see her later, won't I?" I asked. "Even though she's in Slytherin. Will they be mean to me?" I asked both of them, not caring who answered. I had heard Slytherins didn't like the other Houses. I was honestly worried.

I giggled a bit. "That... is a very good point," I said as I ate nearly half the roll in my hands in one bite. My manners were rapidly deteriorating. The headmistress probably would have had me hanged if she could see me now. The thought made me smile, at least faintly.
River
I wasn't quite sure how to answer her second question. "You probably won't see the three of us except for at meals. And Lil will be nice to you, but the other Slytherins... it's probably best to stay away from them, okay?" I said; Caleb nodded in agreement.

James
I watched Olivia as she looked up at me, and then quickly looked back down, her face turning red, but the hand print on her face didn't fade. She was obviously still upset about that, then. I wasn't going to apologise. I meant what I had said, and if she didn't agree, it was her problem.
Olivia
I looked straight back down when I saw James was looking at me. He looked upset again. My face still burned, whether from embarrassment at being scolded and 'punished' in front of anybody who had glanced at us, or from the slap on the face I'd received after the argument. My plate was still mostly empty. I hadn't eaten much, since I felt sick any time I argued with my brother. I placed my knife and fork down with shaking fingers and stood up.

ooc: *facepalm* Sorry. xD Pemberley I half smiled. "Everyone can be mean. It's just a matter of how often they are." I pointed out. Celeste I frowned. I was gonna make a Slytherin my friend; I was determined. "Okay." I said simply to try and make them think I wasn't going to do just that. I looked over at Amity, who, put nicely, seemed uncomfortable. "Can we go up to the common rooms now?" I asked Caleb. Jace I hadn't eaten much at dinner, and I wasn't going to. I had gotten Sorted into Slytherin. They were all trying to figure out who I was and why I was here. I was sincerely sorry to disappoint when I gave cold, clipped answers. I stood up and exited the Great Hall, and just hung out outside, where there weren't many people. After all I had no idea where to go, unfortunately. I was forced to wait for everyone else.

I shook my head at Celly. "You'll need a prefect to show you to your common room... Normally, I would force River to help you, but he's a Gryffindor prefect," I told her with a shrug. They would probably announce that the feast was over soon. I was looking forward to getting up to my common room and sleeping for a while. There really didn't sound like anything better right now. Food, then sleep? Oh yes. Hogwarts was bliss.

Celeste "I wonder who'll be in my dormitory with me!" I thought out loud. I was excited. All I'd ever had for company was Andrew at home, or my cousins, who were all older then I was. But now I had people my age and who were girls, too. I loved Hogwarts.

River
I was in the process of shrugging my shoulders when someone dropped down next to me and draped an arm around my shoulder. I turned to see none other than Lilith... and a lot of the guys from my year staring. Sometimes I would swear she turned up that half-Veela charm to the absolute full blast she could and kept it there all the time. Sure, she was pretty, but people didn't react like this to a normal person. "How's everyone doing?" she asked and shot a smile at Celly. I knew Lil had always liked her; she just wasn't very great at showing it besides the hugs that Celly initiated. Showing feelings weren't really her strong suit; manipulating other peoples', on the other hand...

Lilith
I laughed and hugged Celeste back momentarily before leaning back against the table. "Just making my rounds," I told her nonchalantly. Caleb rolled his eyes, but went back to eating his food and didn't say anything. I saw the corners of River's lips quirk up very slightly from the corner of my eye, but he finished his food off and got up from the bench. "I'm going to go find the others," he informed us before walking off. By "the others", it was pretty obvious that he meant the other prefects. We were apparently not good enough for him. Sometimes it seemed like we never were. Well, whatever.

OOC: You are not! I've just been really lazy lately. xD LilithI nodded a bit, letting my eyes follow my brother. He'd found his friends and seemed a little comfortable, but I still couldn't make myself be happy for him. I wanted him to be happy around us. Was that so much to ask? "Yeah, a prefect." Caleb nudged me in the side, his eyebrows raised. "Relax, Lil. It's our last year. Then you can torment River to your heart's content," he said, a cocky grin spread across his face. "You'll have to content yourself with torturing the rest of the male population until then." I scowled at him momentarily. "I hope you're talking about me torturing them in two completely, very different ways." "Well, it would be rather awkward if you treated River the same way as you treat some of the other guys you hang out with..." I sighed and rolled my eyes at him, wanting to tell him that we all had our different ways of doing things or using our natural gifts. So maybe all three of us had inherited Mum's powers; I chose to use them. Caleb and River both chose to let them sit around and waste away. Then again, Caleb, at least, had some natural charm. River, on the other hand, was as charming as one of Dad's socks that hadn't been washed for a week.

Celeste I felt very lost from their conversation, but I didn't say anything. I turned to look to where River had gone, and they were gathering their houses to go to the common rooms. "Bye Caleb. Bye Lilith," I said hugging them both. Then I took Amity's hand. "We gotta go," I said pointing.
