"Yes; Caleb is in Gryffindor." When she said she was glad, I grinned and hugged her for a moment, then pulled away as Professor...Button? read off names. "What letter does your last name start with?" I asked in a whisper. If was A, B, or C, she was really soon.
Bridge
"Anybody you know getting Sorted?" I asked him, eyeing the transfers. I wondered why they left whereever they'd come from. My eyes rested on a blonde girl for a moment, then I looked back at Caleb.
Jace
Alphabetically. How perfectly lovely. I rolled my eyes and waited with a sigh. Wayland was sure to be last, or close to it.

Jada

I sat with my head rested in my hand, anxious that the Sorting had begun. The crowd was starting to thin out as everyone was finding their way to their tables. My Ravenclaw table seemed the most empty, I was still waiting for someone to at least sit across from me. That way I could have a decent conversation or make a new friend. I would rather not try and talk to the girls on either side of me, who were still irritated that I had sat between them. Occasional glares came from the both of them, I hardly cared. But I was starting to get irritated myself. Just as one of them started to flash one of their annoyed glares, I turned to look at her. She quickly turned away, intimidated by the look I was giving her.I tried my best to keep my voice calm and friendly, "You know if it bothers you so much that I'm sitting here why don't you just move instead of sitting there murdering my face with your eyes?" as quickly as she had turned away before, the girl got up and left to the other end of the table, dragging her friend along behind. I faced forward again and sighed proudly. I was good at getting rid of people in a quick and nice way.

I smiled to myself and gave a little shrug when she looked away; typical Bree. Or at least, what I knew of her. In all these years we'd barely spoken to each other...but she was always there on the other side of the room, looking at me. I looked towards the first years again, wondering when the sorting would begin.

Wren
"Isn't she always?" I replied, my smirk growing a little as I noticed the movement of her eyes. "Best holiday yet. I ditched my parents," I said proudly.

Amity

Gryffindor. They called them Houses. In Beauxbatons, there had not been Houses; we were all just students. Maybe here, they encouraged some sort of friendly competition? If they did not, I would still have no idea what purpose the Houses served. I chuckled a bit when she hugged me and I answered, "B. It is for Benoit."
Nearly right after I had mentioned this, the man had called, "Benoit, Amity" and I found my eyes going wide. Mon Dieu! What was I supposed to do? Eventually my legs started moving me to the front of the room, to that chair with the old, tattered hat on it. I picked it up, sat down, and placed it on my head. I tried to ignore the huge mass of people that were there, all looking toward the front of the room. Somehow, I convinced myself they were complaining about the state of the hat to themselves instead of staring at me. The hat was silent for a moment before it shouted "HUFFLEPUFF!" and one of the tables erupted into applause. I figured that was the one, and I headed over to it, taking a seat and smiling thankfully at the people who greeted me.

Caleb

"My... well, we're somehow related, Celly, should be. A first year," I added, so he didn't ask if she was transferring or what. I noticed Bridge looking at someone, but I wasn't sure who, so I decided not to mention it, just smirking to myself a bit instead as more and more first years and transfers were called up for their turns with the Sorting Hat.

[Emmy]

Celeste
"Lupin, Celeste!" He called. I could barely keep the grin off my face as I put the hat on. It fell over my eyes, so I couldn't see anything. I could barely keep from squirming; this was finally happening! I wondered if Caleb was watching. I think he was. My mind was racing.
"HUFFLEPUFF!" The hat yelled. My hair turned black and yellow, because I couldn't keep my feelings in. I took the hat off and set it on the chair for the next person and darted off to the Hufflepuff table, taking a seat next to Amity. "I'm with you!!!!"
Bridge
"Was that her?" I asked him when the most recent girl's hair changed color. "Is she a...what's it called? Meta-something."
Pemberley
I watched the girl across the table from me carefully.(Jada) She had a point about the other girls, though; it as stupid to just glare daggers when you were perfectly able to move.

[Callie]

OOC: Aaaand because I'm pretty sure there are only two other characters to be Sorted and I'm impatient, we shall start the feast!

Caleb

This time, I clapped along with the Hufflepuffs, though I wished Celly would've been in my house. She was like my little sister. "A metamorphagus? Yeah," I told him with a grin as she rushed off to take her seat. I let out a loud whoop to show my support.
A while later, Zerrick, Cody, had been called, and it was time for the feat. Headmaster Kincaid stood and gave one of his speeches, and, as usual, it was particularly boring.
Then, the words I'd been craving to hear since I got in here were said: "Let the feast... begin!" And suddenly the tables were filled with food. I grinned and wasted no time in grabbing anything and everything that looked delicious.

Amity

I smiled and hugged Celeste, just relieved to at least know someone. ... Even if her hair changed color. Just how did that work, anyways? Maybe it was some spell that I myself had not learned yet. I made a mental note to ask my new friend later. It was good to not be completely alone in a new school, though I probably would not have any classes with her. When the headmaster gave his speech, I listened intently, hardly noticing when our plates were suddenly filled with food. Once I did notice, though, I realized that no one was using their manners while they ate. Well... this was nothing like Beauxbatons! But, so far? I liked it.

I looked down the table flirtatiously at some of the guys, I smiled so when several of them had noticed and turned toward each other in unicine, looks of surprise across their face. When I had faced forward again, I realized another girl had sat down across from me. I immediately noticed she had seen me tell off the other girls. I laughed and gave her a nod, "Hey."

Bree

She clapped when there seemed to be a good rush of Hufflepuffs, and she smiled, looking at the new students to her house. She raised her eyebrows at the one who changed her hair color... but that just made it seem even cooler, to her. She glanced at Ben again. Maybe if they had time after dinner she could say hi to him....

Vienna

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "Really? That's great! Wait-- how have you been getting around and surviving?"

I waggled my eyebrows and smirked. "I have my ways." In truth, I'd just been crashing at a friend's house the whole summer, but I sounded much cooler if I kept what I'd been doing a secret.

Pemberley
I smiled. "Hi. I'm Pemberley." I told her immediately. She looked much older then myself.
Bridge
"Metamorphagus...that's awesome." I said.
After the feast began I followed suit and grabbed everything I thought looked yummy. I took a big bite of chicken and chewed. Ahhh, I had missed Hogwarts so much.
Celeste
My hair slowly turned back to it's normal brown, and I took some food, but not too much. I had eaten too much candy on the train. "When we are done, I'll show you Caleb." I grinned and took medium-sized bites. Caleb and River and Lilith were right; this food was so much better then at home.

[Callie]

Caleb

"That it is," I said through my own mouthful of chicken. Mum was a good cook, but even she couldn't beat Hogwarts food.

Amity

I just nodded a bit, looking around at all the food. Someone could eat all day and not finish even a fourth of everything that was here! I took a few different things and put them onto my plate, having no idea of what to start with.

Before long I finished what was on my plate. I looked up at Amity, who seemed to be overwhelmed by all the food. I pointed at some on her plate. "Try that first. It's good." I told her matter-of-factly.
Bridge
I looked back over at the Hufflepuff table. "Who's the transfer with her, though? She couldn't have met her before today."

Jada

I extended a hand across the table and over my food to the noticeably younger girl. "I'm Jada. How long have you been coming here?" This was my subtle way of asking how old she was, I didn't want to ask directly and be my normal abnoxious self. Typically I would act myself, I just had a history of intimidating people with that approach. So I figured I would slowly turn that side of me on, maybe.

[Callie]

Amity

Smiling faintly, I took her advice and took a bite of the food. "Mon Dieu!" I exclaimed. "That is... delicious." Papa was not really a wonderful cook, but this... This I could get used to. I was liking Hogwarts more and more by the minute.

Caleb

I followed his gaze and shrugged. "No, she couldn't have. Celly's pretty hard not to like though," I said with a laugh. The kid was too adorable for her own good. Then I looked back to Bridge, trying to bite back a smirk and failing miserably. "Why? You interested?" I teased him. I could only see the back of her, so I didn't know if she was pretty or not.

Celeste
I grinned, my hair changing to bubblegum pink. "I told you! You will love Hogwarts."
Bridge
I punched his shoulder again. I responded to his question by stuffing my mouth full of food.
Pemberley
I shook her hand. "I'm a third year." I answered her question.

Jada

I nodded. Thirteen. "I'm a six year. I love being back here again." I smiled and continued eating. Mom's food could hardly come close to beating what they had at Hogwarts. The cheery sound of talk and laughter made me smile to myself. I was happy here too.

Amity

I smiled broadly at her. "Maybe you are right," I murmured, looking back to my food. Well... when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Is that what they say? With that thought, I began shoveling the food on my plate into my mouth, trying to hold back peals of laughter. This was not ladylike at all, and certainly not what we were taught in Beauxbatons. Perhaps it was time to break the mold, though, was it not? After all, Hogwarts was my school now.

Caleb

I grinned knowingly at him when he just started to stuff his face after punching me in the arm. "You so are," I accused, trying to get a good look at the new blonde. I couldn't, though, just the back of her head. Well, I couldn't tease Bridge about the girl he was checking out if I couldn't even see her! Sigh. Oh well. Maybe Celeste would come to visit eventually... and bring her new friend with her.
"Take it easy on him, Caleb," River said from beside me with an amused smile. I nearly jumped off of the bench and onto the ground just because I hadn't even noticed him sitting by us.

I giggled, holding my hand over my mouth. She was becoming a true Hogwartian! If that was the word for it. I didn't know. When her plate was cleared, I tugged on the sleeve of her robe. "Maintenant, nous pouvons aller voir Caleb!"

I swallowed my mouthful of food too early, causing a painful lump in my throat that went down slowly. It was because I heard River next to Caleb. I hadn't even known he was here! After I coughed a little bit, I noticed that his cousin--who was now sporting pink hair--was getting up. I hoped her friend was soon to follow.
Pemberley
I smiled. "Don't we all?" I asked her rhetorically, taking a big gulp of pumpkin juice. I hoped this year wouldn't prove to be stressful, with the added classes and no breaks.

[Callie]

Amity

I laughed and got up from the table, feeling slightly nervous. What if we were supposed to stay at our tables? I did not want to get in trouble; I had not even been here for a half an hour yet! Well, no one was saying anything so far. Instead, I looked down to Celeste. "How do you change your hair like that?" I asked her curiously, waiting for her to lead the way.

Caleb

I smacked Bridge helpfully on the back, smirking faintly. "Great way to start the year," I told him jokingly, since he was done nearly choking now. I followed his eyes and saw my currently pink-haired sort of relative and her friend getting up from their table. Where were they going?

Jada

I nodded silently, looking down at the other end of the table at the boys again. They had the same hilariously shocked look on their faces, as if they were surprised that I would even bother to look at them. I smiled and laughed to myself. I looked back at Pemberly and said, "I'm hoping to meet new people and new friends this year, though." I nodded toward the boys," if you know what I mean." I laughed.

"Oh! I was born with it. I'm a Metamorphagus. I can change my appearance any way I want to." I grinned and changed my hair back to its normal brown. Then I turned and headed for the Gryffindor table, finding Caleb and River right away. I ran up to him and hugged him from behind, while he was still sitting. "Hi!"
Bridge
I gave one last cough and shook my head. This year was going to be chaotic, I could tell. I looked over at Caleb's sort of relative and then at her friend. I waved and gave a charming smile. "Hi. I'm Bridge."

[Callie]

Amity

I looked at her curiously, having never heard of a... metamorphagus before. Huh. Maybe they were rare? Or new? But wait! No, that did sound familiar. Nymphadora Tonks had been a metamorphagus. Well, fifty years ago, but it was still something to go off of.
When we reached the table, the boy to whom I assumed was Caleb's left waved at me and introduced himself. But mon dieu, did he have a gorgeous smile or what? I could feel my cheeks turning a faint pink, but I tried to ignore it. "Bonjour. Je suis - " I cut myself off, realizing that I probably would not be so lucky to have more than Celeste speak French. "Hi. My name is Amity."

Caleb

I laughed when Celly came up and hugged me from behind. "She's on the attack," I joked, turning around and hugging her back. "How've you been?" I asked her with a smile, looking knowingly at Bridge out of the corner of my eyes. She was pretty... which could explain why he'd been so intrigued earlier.

Alina

Eventually, the group scattered and I found myself convieniently next to Raven. I stared absently at the assortment of food in front of me when the feast began, before slowly taking a bread roll and putting it on my plate. I wasn't hungry, in fact I was never one to really gorge myself on everything, like most people did. I could imagine Bridge stuffing his face with a huge variety of food right now.
I think it came with the homesickness, as I felt this way every year. Why did I have to be stuck in darn Scotland for the most of the year? I pleaded with Bashta and Maĭka so many times to find an alternate way - sure, I liked Hogwarts, but my heart ached for Bulgaria. It always had.

Celeste
I hugged River too, so he wouldn't feel bad. "I'm finally at Hogwarts, Caleb! And I found a friend who speaks French! That's Amity." I said pointing at my new friend. I grinned excitedly.
Bridge
I half smirked. "You must be from Beauxbatons? It's cool you can speak another language, though. I'm not that interesting." Yes, I actually was very interesting, but she was blushing and I wanted to make her feel welcome.
Pemberley
I smiled and gave a little laugh. "Yeah, that's what I wanted to do this year, too."

[Callie]

Raven

Piling some of the food onto my plate, I cocked my head at Alina. "So... how was your summer?" I asked her simply, going for some of my treacle tart first. As always, it was utterly delicious, and, for some reason, it made me want some Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans after it. That'd have to wait until later, though. They didn't serve them for dinner.

Caleb

River let out a laugh and hugged her back when I glanced over to Celly's new friend. "It's probably a good thing that you can understand her." I grinned. "Something tells me most people won't be able to." I definitely wasn't a expert at speaking French, anyways. I knew a few basic words, but other than that, I would be utterly lost. Celly had tried once and ended up nearly dying on the ground from laughter at how bad I was at it.

Amity

I nodded slowly when he mentioned Beauxbatons, and how he was uninteresting. I doubted that, especially judging from the way he was smirking now. Mon Dieu, I was a goner. Okay, I just needed to be calm. Never mind that I had no idea how to talk to boys; it just... was not a skill that you needed when you were only ten years old. "I... am not all that interesting, either. Do not worry," I said with a nervous laugh. Retreat! my brain was crying. I should just stop talking. I was going to make a fool of myself.

"People like you," I said with a smirk. "Vous avez complètement puent à parler français, Caleb Potter."
Bridge
"Oh, I'm sure getting to know you would be worth the effort." I said smiling. She really was pretty; and she seemed nice, too. I wanted to know her.

"Yes, people like me," I said, then stared at her while I tried to figure out what she was saying. Something about me. And French. My eyes went wide and I nearly choked on the chicken I'd been chewing on. "Wait, you saw what?" I asked her; River raised his eyebrows, but said nothing else.

Amity

And now the heat in my cheeks was returning with a vengeance. I lowered my gaze to the ground so he would not notice and scrambled for something to say. "I..." Think, Amity! "am glad you think so." Oh, that was terrible. Just run along. Back to your table. Back to Beauxbatons, preferably. Those of the male species were obviously not my specialty. And now I was standing here like a complete buffoon. I kept telling myself I should head back to the table, but I saw Celeste out of the corner of my eye and she did not look near ready to leave. I was going to have to tough it out; she was the only one I knew.

I smiled an shrugged. "Well I guess you got stuck with me to start off with," I replied. My stomach had begun getting stuffed so I pushed my plate out in front of me, with only a few bites left. I let out a sigh of happiness.

I giggled uncontrollably. "I said, you completely stink at speaking French. Seeing something was never in the sentence." I looked at River. "Surely you got that, River?"
Bridge
"Do you want to sit down?" I asked, scooting over to make room. Thankfully the person who had been next to me had left. She was adorable when she blushed like that. I need to learn French.

I was intrigued, but, I didn't press him. "Well, maybe you can crash at my place... it'll be nice having somebody I can talk to."
