Titantic: Maiden Voyage

"Yeah." I nodded, and couldn't help but grin. "To be honest, I don't really much care for facial hair either."

I laughed loudly, then quickly covered my mouth with a hand, eyes widening and praying that my parents hadn't heard me. I waited a minute, and when nobody came out of the room, I sighed in relief. "Thought I was caught there," I joked.

Nicholas

I just smiled at her, taking a step back. "Well, maybe I'll see you around the ship, Juliet," I told her, adding an exaggerated bow, then turning around and walking off. Back to the third class quarters.

Juliet
"Maybe you will," I said softly, watching him go before turning around and entering my room.
"Juliet, where were you?" a curt voice automatically asked. And I thought I might have made it back before them. Oh well.
"I couldn't sleep, so I decided to walk around the ship a bit in hopes I might tire myself out," I lied.
"What are you wearing?!" my mother gasped, looking at my dress in disgust. "And what did you do to your hair?"
"I..." There was really no way I could explain that, could I? "I went to a party," I stated.
"Shall I assume it wasn't first class?" my mother said sourly. "Oh just wait until your father hears about this. Go strip down and go to bed. We'll discuss this with you in the morning."
"Yes, mother," I sighed, heading for my room.
"And Juliet?"
"Yes?"
"If I catch you with any third-class passengers, I will see to it that you have an escort who will never leave your side until we board at New York."
"Yes, Mother," I muttered before opening and closing the door to my room.

When I opened the door to the room I'd be sharing with a few other passengers, Chastity was already sitting on one of the beds, dressed in her nightclothes. She grinned at me as I shut the door. "You look like you're half-floating on a cloud. Shall I assume you asked the ship out and she accepted?"
I chuckled and sat down on my own bed. "Sure, Chass."
Her expression got more thoughtful, more serious, now. "That... Juliet of yours - "
"She's not mine," I said, but it came out a bit more bitterly than I meant it to.
"But you want her to be. Shut up and let me finish my sentence."
I opened my mouth to interrupt again, but Chass shot me one of her death glares, so I just shut my mouth obligingly.
"She's not so bad. Not like most of the other first-class people. I guess... there are exceptions. I... I should apologize, shouldn't I?" she asked, glancing up at the ceiling thoughtfully.
I just gaped at her in disbelief before I realized she was expecting an answer. "I... yes. Yes, you probably should."
Chastity nodded. "Night, Nicky," she said with a yawn, dimming the lights and curling up under thin, uncomfortable covers.
I sat there for a few moments before I followed her lead.

8:30 A.M.
On The R.M.S. Titantic

Juliet
"Miss. Miss, it's time for you to wake up. Breakfast will be served in half an hour," a delicate voice called to me.
I opened my eyes, yawned, then sat up in bed, staring at my maid, Penelope. "Are my parents already gone?" I groaned.
Penelope nodded. "Your mother instructed me to help dress you."
"All right," I sighed, getting up and uncomfortably stripping out of my nightgown.

Eventually, I was woken up by Chastity, who had opted for a rude awakening by jumping onto my bed and then jumping up and down so much I feared she'd break the mattress. "What? Where'sthefire?" I asked groggily, shooting up from the pillow.
Chass just laughed, flopping down on the bed so she was sitting at the end. "No fire. But I'm bored, so you have to wake up."

OOC: Since everyone else disappered, can I take back my claim on Tom? >.>

I winced as Penelope tightened the strings on my corset, and then closed my eyes as I felt smooth silk slide down my body. Penelope straightened the dress on me, then sighed in amazement. "You are ready, Miss. Do you need help with your makeup or hair?"
"No, thank you, Penelope," I said politely and waited for her to leave the room before I fixed my hair. I used a large silver butterfly clip to pin half of my hair to the top of my head, so that my hair was half up and half down. I applied a coat of red lipstick to my lips and did any other makeup needed. I wrapped a filmy scarf around my shoulders and then left my cabin, heading down to breakfast.

"Why can't you occupy yourself?" I grumbled into my pillow.

Chastity

I sighed and looked at Nicky, disappointed. "Fine!" I huffed playfully, turning around and walking out, up onto the deck.

OOC: Tom can bug her or Juliet can. Either or. xD

Tom
I headed up to the deck to get some fresh air before they called for the second class passengers to eat. I leaned on the edge of a rail, looking down into the blue waves far below us. I could see slick creatures riding up beside the boat, and my face lit up with a smile.

So far, other than the hugeness of this ship, it wasn't really anything special. Then again, I also couldn't get Ben off my mind, which just spoiled everything. I wanted to hate every single first-class and second-class person I came across because of him, but it was getting difficult. Not that it was just first-class and second-class people... everyone left you eventually. That was why I hated to fight with Nicky. I knew he'd be just like everyone else, and he'd leave, too. It was just... inevitable.

"Good morning, dear. I trust you slept well?" my mother asked politely as I sat down.
"I slept fine," I mumbled, sipping at my tea.
"You had a long night, didn't you?" my father asked, and I tried to stop my face from flushing.
"Yes."
He nodded at this. "Don't you ever do that again, Juliet. You know the rules."
I nodded too. "Yes, father."

Tom
I looked over to see a young woman also with me on the deck, looking lost in thought. I looked at her for a moment longer before calling to her. "Lovely weather, isn't it, for early spring?"

Chastity

I glanced up when I heard someone talking. To me. A young man. "I... yeah, I suppose so..." I murmured in agreement after looking out over the horizon. I hadn't really noticed.

I frowned. I sidestepped a little bit so that I was a bit closer to her. "Something seems to be bugging you," I stated.

I smiled faintly. "I just prefer to be on land. I haven't gotten my sea-legs yet," I lied.

"Ah, so it's only seasickness." I looked the girl up and down. She was dressed poorly, and I didn't want to go ahead an assume she was third class, but I wasn't going to ask her about it. "You'll get used to it." I could tell she was lying. It was pretty obvious. "That aside, what's really bothering you?"

I arched an eyebrow at him. "If you're looking for a sob story, you'll have to look elsewhere. I don't spill my life story to complete strangers."

I held out a hand for her to shake. "Tom O'Malley's the name. And now you know me."

[Callie]

Chastity

I opened my mouth, shut it, then smirked. I shook his hand. "Why didn't I think of that? I'm Chastity. Or Chass. In case you were curious. And I was just... reminiscing."

I shook her hand firmly back, then dropped it back to my side. "Reminiscing," I repeated slowly. "Memories are little bothers, aren't they?"

I smiled faintly, crossing my arms. "I couldn't agree more."

I nodded slightly. "I don't suppose you'd care to share exactly what memories are triggering your emotions of unhappiness?"

OOC: Well, he is second class.

"Not really. What about you?"

I blinked at her. "I'm not unhappy."

"I never said you were. I was just curious as to what might make you think memories are little bothers," I told him, arching an eyebrow.

Tom
I was hesitant to say anything in response, but I knew that if I wanted to pull information out of her, then I had to offer some up. "My mother died when I was 14," I answered simply.

[Callie]

Chastity

I inclined my head slightly. "I'm sorry for your loss," I said simply, unsure of what else to say. Wasn't 'I'm sorry' the customary phrase even if it wasn't your fault.

I shrugged. "S'not your fault."

"I know. Still."
