Fallacies

[Callie]

Mercedes

"I know," I said mildly. "But I think I would be if I were using you as a rebound. Which I'm not, in case you weren't clear on that." I frowned slightly, wondering if somehow, I'd screwed things up by calling myself horrible.

Marcus
"Thanks for clarifying that. It was bugging me," I replied, studying her expression. I hadn't meant to make her upset.

[Callie]

Mercedes

I kissed him lightly on the lips, but it felt bittersweet. Maybe that was just me, though, worrying that one of us - or neither - was going to make it out of this alive.

Marcus
I pulled her closer to me, not caring who saw, and kissed her back more roughly. We had only just begun this, but I feared greatly that I might lose her. I needed to soak up whatever time we might have left together.

Mercedes

After a few more moments, I remembered that I was supposed to be doing something... and I got self-conscious, so I pulled away, slightly reluctant. "We should keep moving," I whispered.

Marcus
I frowned slightly, but then let a cold, expressionless face cover mine. "All right. Let's go," I said, voice clipped, as I began walking again.

Mercedes

I bit my lip, knowing that I'd obviously done something, but I'd have to worry about that later. Staying alive and making sure Marcus was safe were my number one priorities right now. Yes, even if he hated me. It didn't matter.

Parker

I stopped when we reached the door, a shiver going down my spine. "They're obviously not trying to ambush us," I remarked dryly. "I can hear them stomping around outside." Which meant they'd probably be here soon. Julian walked past me and opened the door, then.
"Back up and get ready, everyone," she called. Her voice was hardly loud, but it seemed to echo throughout the hall, and it rang with quiet authority.

Keira
I swallowed hard, and I self-conciously fumbled to take Parker's hand. I wasn't in the slighest ready but I had no choice.
Marcus looked fine, but I could tell by the way his hands shook that he was terrified.

Parker

I squeezed Keira's hand lightly, and shot her the most reassuring smile I could muster at this point. I kept my other hand on my gun.
And then, all hell broke loose. Soldiers stormed through the door, and machine guns were firing - not at us, but at them. I almost freaked out and looked around wildly for them, but then remembered that I needed to help them out. I had to concentrate. I had to let go of Keira's hand, even though I'd like nothing more than to drag her back to our room and not let her separate her lips from mine for the rest of the night. I dropped her hand and brought out my gun, shooting everyone I possibly could that was dressed in a uniform.

Keira
The moment he let go of my hand, I found myself swept away from him, and I bit back a wail. I needed to stay by him! I couldn't keep him safe if I was away from him. I could hear the stomp of feet approaching from behind, and I quickly turned around and used my powers against him. The man screamed and fell to the floor, and I shot him dead.

Parker

I cursed under my breath when I noticed Keira wasn't anywhere near me, and I pushed my way through the crowd to find her again. I shot any of the soldiers that were nearby.

Mercedes

After shooting a few of the soldiers, I decided that wasn't really my thing. I moved off to the side of the fighting, focusing on controlling their emotions. I didn't feel as bad if I manipulated two soldiers to think they hated either other and they ended up killing each other. Besides, that was twice as efficient.

OOC: Figured it was about time Mercedes got to use her powers. xD

Keira
I used my gun more than I used my powers; there's no way I could make every soldier fall and then shoot them. I didn't have that kind of time. I'd only use my powers if someone surprised me. "Parker?" I called, needing to make sure he was still okay as I saw our soldiers fall around us.

Marcus
I stood at Mercedes' side, watching her as she just...stood there. Maybe she was using powers, like the ones Keira had? Whatever she was doing, I needed to keep people off of her. I shot two soldiers that were heading our way, then turning around to shoot another one.

Parker

"Alive and kicking!" I called in response. I actually kicked a soldier in the face. Y'know... for good measure.

Mercedes

"Thanks," I whispered, though he probably couldn't hear me. "Look," I said, more loudly. I manipulated two more soldier's emotions. First they just yelled at each other, and then they shot each other - simultaneously.

Keira
I looked around wildly for him until I saw him. I smiled just a little bit, but the distraction was enough. I felt myself being tackled to the ground, and I yelped at the heavy wait. "Gotcha," a low voice growled in my ear, and I wondered why he hadn't just killed me.

Marcus
I looked in her general direction and watched the two soldiers die. "Wow. You're amazing," I breathed before shooting another soldier lunging towards us.

Parker

I lost sight of Keira, then saw her tackled to the ground. I shot the guy in the head, then pulled him off her and held a hand out to her to help her back up.

Mercedes

"I feel better that way than shooting them myself," I said with a small smile, continuing to control their emotions. The masses were thinning, but only slightly.

Keira
I took his hand, letting him pull me up. "I could have handled that," I muttered, not liking to seem like a damsel in distress.

Marcus
"It's a smart idea," I said, my stomach lurching in sickness as I shot a soldier in the face.

Parker

"Whatever you say, gorgeous," I said, going back to killing whoever I had to.

Keira
I scowled at him but continued to fight my way around, numbing my mind and trying not to think about the people I was murdering. I knew some of these people. Some of them I had helped train and hand-select. I felt like a backstabber.

Mercedes

I froze as one of the men grabbed Julian and held a gun to her head. "Listen. We'll leave as soon as we get the prince and the princess," he called loudly. The threat wasn't stated, but I knew he'd shoot Julian if we didn't hand Keira and Daemon over. But we couldn't!
"Don't listen!" she shouted, struggling. She stomped on his foot, but it didn't seem to affect him. I saw her eyes go wide after a moment. "What did you do?" For some reason, I had the feeling she was referring to her powers. I tried to manipulate his emotions, but it didn't look like it affected him.
He smiled, a twisted sort of one. "My power includes defense from yours, my dear."
And from anyone else's powers as well, evidently.

Keira
I looked up, the fighting now ceased. I didn't want to go back home...and Julian insisted that we didn't listen. Julian was a bitch too...but then again, so was I.
I couldn't let anybody die because of me.
"I'm here," I called in a loud voice, heart swelling. The crowd parted, making a path for me to walk over to Julian and the soldier. I bit my bottom lip, still hesitant.

[Callie]

Julian

"No!" I yelled. Just let me die. At least if I do, they don't win. They can't win. My sister... The guy slapped me across the face.
"Shut up," he hissed. "And where's the boy?"
As he spoke, Daemon made his way through the crowd, not looking too thrilled about the situation. Looking between the two of them, I got an idea. "Keira... take Sherri with - "
"I'm getting tired of you real fast, girly," the guy said with a sigh, sliding the knife across my throat. I gasped for air, but it seemed like none would come in.
So this was the end? It couldn't come quicker, could it?

Daemon

I just stared, wide-eyed, at the dying Julian in front of me. "What?! You said if we came - "
"None of your whining, brat. I'm here to take the two of you back home."
If I'd had my gun, I would've shot the bastard right there.

Mercedes

I couldn't find words. I couldn't even find tears. It seemed all that I was capable of doing was staring in pain at Julian's dead or dying body. I wanted to cry, but it... I couldn't.

OOC: I love how Parker has no reaction to them taking Keira. xD

Keira
"No!" I gasped, running over to Julian's twitching body. I kneeled down next to her, lifting her into my lap. "Jul-Julian..." But she wasn't answering me, and if she was, all that was coming out were gargled sounds.
"There's no deal here," I hissed at the soldier. "You killed her! I won't come with."

OOC: Well, they haven't technically taken her yet... xD

Mercedes

"Sweetheart, you're coming with me whether you want to or not. I've been instructed to bring you back no matter what - "
Parker interrupted him, and I looked around before realizing that his voice was actually coming from the second floor, where he'd taken over one of the stationed machine guns. "Leave. And leave both of them alone right now. I don't even care right now, I'll use this son of a bitch to shoot down your entire army right here. You're all easy pickings right now."
The guy blinked, looked faintly surprised, if only for a moment. "Go ahead and try it, but you'll kill some of your own people as well."
"I won't. Trust me. I have good aim."
"Well, you're more than welcome to try if you're so - " BANG! A few bullets slammed right into the guy's chest, and he slumped over. Some of the other soldiers seized Keira and Daemon, wrapping them in some... glowing rope? Of course! That rope would bind their powers until it was taken off. If I could only concentrate enough to try and manipulate the soldiers' emotions again... but I couldn't. They were dragging Keira ad Daemon out, Parker was shooting at the soldiers and shouting insults, and the other rebels seemed to be slowly coming to life and joining Parker in the shooting. Me? I was seeing Julian's throat get cut right in front of me... again and again and again. I couldn't even try to save my best friend.

OOC: Keira should somehow persuade the soldiers to go with her so she can get Sheridan... xD

Keira
"Let me GO!" I shrieked, kicking and fighting even though it was no use. I thrashed around, trying to make it difficult for them to take me, but it was still pointless. "NO! LET. US. GO!" I screamed, then stilled, remembering Julian's words. "I need to get my - my friend!" I gasped, looking pleadingly up at the soldiers. "Please. I need to...she's important! She's apart of the royal family!"
One of the soldier's sneered at us. "I think the Queen and King would have instructed us to get her too if she was so important."
"They don't know about her! She's...she's my daughter!" I lied. "I've been...I've been hiding her! Please, let me go back!"

Daemon

I knew struggling was futile, so I didn't. But I could still try and help Keira do... whatever she was doing, couldn't I? I knew she didn't have a daughter, of course, but if she said something like that, either it was important or she had a plan. I widened my eyes. "Keira, you have a... daughter?" I asked, pretending to be confounded.

Keira
I hung my head in shame, grateful that my brother was playing along. "I didn't...I couldn't tell you guys. They would have disowned me and/or killed me."
The soldier blinked at me. "Fine," he snapped, "direct us towards where you've hidden this child. Just know that this doesn't mean we're keeping the child under our protection."
I nodded quickly and gave him the directions, and he left to go down into the base.

[Callie]

Daemon

"I hope you have a really good plan," I whispered with a slight sigh, dodging bullets. They might've been from Parker and they might've been from someone else, but Parker seemed the most likely candidate, though I knew he wasn't aiming for me. "And that they don't kill her."

OOC: Sherri wouldn't really be able to resist, so you can just have him come back with her whenever. xD

"They won't. I won't let them," I hissed. Though he was right. I needed a plan, and I hoenstly didn't have one right now.

I just nodded slowly. "Good."

Soon the soldier returned, carrying Sheridan over his shoulder. I panicked, worrying that he was hurting her, but she was actually giggling. He remained expressionless however. "Let's go," he commanded, voice gruff.
