I took a step back and smirked at her. "Maybe you're already pregnant from Parker," I teased.

My face flushed. "I don't even think that's possible," I hissed.

Mercedes

I shrugged. "You never know," I said as a piercing alarm filled the air. "What the hell is that?" I asked loudly, covering my ears.

Parker

I shot up from the bed when the alarm started going off and pulled my clothes on, rushing into the hallway. What was happening?

Julian

I blanched, hearing the siren going off. That could only mean one thing: we were under attack. I didn't know how they'd found us, but all that mattered right now was the fact that we were going to die if we didn't do something, and quick. I jetted out of my room and into my office, turning on a loudspeaker that everyone should be able to hear. "This isn't a drill. I want everyone armed and at their stations. Those of you without weapons or any idea where to go, meet me at the top of the second floor stairs. Keep children in their rooms; everyone seventeen and above is expected to fight. Thank you." I didjn't realize I was shaking until I turned off the loudspeaker. Could we even do this?

Marcus
Panic automatically shot through my limbs as I jumped up from the bed, automatically hurrying to Mercedes' side. I grabbed her hand; I didn't want to lose her through the panicking crowd that would be coming through.
"Parker," Keira gasped. "I have to get to him!" Before anybody could tell her otherwise, Keira was running away from us and down the hallway, disappearing from our sight.

Keira
"Parker!" I yelled as I turned the corner that led to his - my - our room. I saw him standing in the hallway, and I threw myself at him. He was safe. For now.

[Callie]

OOC: Um... can I have a PM reminder of what that plan was?

Mercedes

"Keir -- ! Ugh!" I groaned, glancing back to Marcus. "What do you think? We go find Julian, then?"

Parker

I held Keira to me when she practically jumped into my arms and I buried my face in her hair. "Thank God you're okay," I murmured, then realized what I'd said. "Uh..." Now I felt weird. She wasn't supposed to know how much I cared about her!

I nodded quickly. "We have to fight," I said softly, though deep down I wish we didn't have to. What if I lost her?

Keira
I raised an eyebrow at him, wondering why he was being so...hesitant. I bit back a sigh of frustration and quickly crushed my lips to his. I pulled back and took his hand before he had time to either kiss me back or push me away. "Come on, we have to go," I breathed, heart pounding.

[Callie]

Mercedes

I nodded slowly. "Don't go on a suicide run," I advised with a slightly teasing smile. We'd better both make it out of this alive...

Parker

I smiled as she kissed me, and I returned the kiss, lingering there for longer than she had. "Yeah. Don't die on me, Keira. I'll be pissed."

"I'll try my best," I replied with a roll of my eyes, leading the way through the crowd of people.

Keira
"There's no way I can die. If they know what's good for them, they won't kill the princess," I answered firmly, pulling him to where Julian had instructed us to go.

Parker

"That's reassuring." I let her drag me along.

Mercedes

I just laughed and followed after him, turning for a moment to see Daemon behind me. "Hey," he said simply. I just nodded.

"It should be."

Marcus
I glaned behind me. That was the prince, right? Keira's brother? I stopped when I saw Julian at the staircase, a group of people surrounding her.

Parker

I slowed to a stop when Julian came into my view, handing out weapons.

Mercedes

"This is going to take forever..." I muttered.

"Weapons. I don't need a weapon," I scoffed.

Marcus
"The longer this takes, the less chance we have of dying in battle."

Parker

"It's probably better to actually kill them than to just make them feel like they're dying," I said with a shrug as I walked up to Julian.
She smiled faintly and handed me a gun. "Good luck."
"Thanks, but I won't need it."
"Careful - too much overconfidence causes mistakes."
I grinned at her. "Wise words."

Mercedes

"And more chance of it happening to other people," I said under my breath.

I rolled my eyes and followed him. "All right, I suppose I'll take something," I said to Julian.

Marcus
I sighed. "Can never win."

Julian

I smiled dryly and handed the princess a gun as well. "Watch yourself out there... Keira." I might not like her, but by now, I did at least have a sort of grudging respect for the princess. Considering she was fighting with us instead of against us and all.

Mercedes

I waved a bit to Keira as we got closer and closer to Julian. " 'Course not."

I smiled faintly and waved back at Mercedes, then took the gun from Julian. "Thanks," I murmured, eyeing the weapon. I'd never used one before considering I usually used my powers. But I guess I could use both in this battle.

Marcus
"Sucks."

[Callie]

Julian

"No problem." I looked up as Mercedes approached me, followed by two other guys. Reluctantly, I pressed a gun into her hand, biting my lip. "Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't give you this gun. But you'd make me. And then, if you got hurt, I'd go on kamikaze mode and kill every single one of these bastards I could get my hands on."
"Julian..."
"Shut up for a second." I took a deep breath. "I'd kill every single one of them to avenge you. But these aren't normal circumstances, 'Cedes."
"You have Sheridan."
I gave a sharp nod. "Exactly. And..." I swallowed, unable to look her in the eyes. "In case one of us doesn't make it through this, I want you to know that - "
"Julia - "
"Shut the fuck up for five seconds, Mercedes! I need to tell you this. Just listen to me!" I took a deep breath and locked eyes with her. "I love you. Okay? No matter what happens and even if you don't love me back or even care about me. Just know that. Okay?"
She looked pained, but nodded.
"Thank you," I whispered.

OOC: Aaand Julian has a soul heart. I guess weird shit happens when you're on Mars. xD

I blinked at the pair of them, my eyes growing wide and my mouth practically hanging open. I didn't say anything though as I extended a hand, waiting for Julian to pass me some weapon.

"Didn't see that one comin'," I muttered under my breath, then shut up as Mercedes shot me a glare. Some part of me immediately thought if looks could kill...

Julian

I handed the guy named Marcus a gun, as well, and nodded a bit to him. "Take care of her," I said, continuing to hand out weapons. One to Prince Daemon, one to Dane, one to Lila, one to William...

I nodded firmly. "I will. Don't worry." I still felt confused about that whole exchange, but I didn't say anything to Mercedes as I turned and followed the general direction the crowd was going in. Keira followed a bit farther behind us, pulling Parker along with her.

Daemon trailed behind me while I followed Marcus. "That was awkward for everyone else to hear," I remarked, smirking slightly anyways. Julian. Always worried about everyone, no matter if they could take care of themselves or not.

I coughed. "A bit, yeah." Julian had acted completely heartfelt with Mercedes, and I felt like I couldn't be that sincere and romantic even if I tried. And if Julian's love for Mercedes was still there, did that mean Mercedes still felt the same way? What if I was just a rebound? "Do you actually like me?" I blurted out, not knowing what to expect.

OOC: Yeah, when they were randomly talking about their lives. She said she used to have an intimate relationship with Julian, and Marcus made some comment about it being hot. xD

I looked over to Marcus in shock. Then again, I guess my sort of girlfriend's ex-girlfriend confessing her love for her would put me kinda on edge, too. "Of course," I told him, cracking a small smile. "I'm not that horrible of a person."
