Smokkey
I nodded at Hayden. "Mom, it wasn't intentional. I passed out on the way, and we've been at the hospital since."
"We as in who? I didn't get a call about Hayden until much later," she pressed. "Smokkey, were you with a boy?" I blushed bright red.
"Moooom!"

[Callie]

Hayden

Ah shit. I'd been hoping she didn't get a call about me. I hadn't left until like fifteen minutes before school ended. And I'd been sick! Jesus. But when I heard Mom through Smokk's head, I burst out laughing and I couldn't help her anymore.

Smokkey
I shot a glare at Hayden. "Smokkey? Were you? Answer me." I bit my lip.
"Well...yeah...kinda. But not like that," I said awkwardly, still bright red.
"Aw, lying isn't good, Smokkey." She retorted.

[Callie]

Hayden

"Mom, it wasn't like that," I chimed in once I'd caught my breath. "They're just friends... I think," I said, with a smirk, glancing over to Vincent, who blushed slightly and looked down before anyone else could notice. I wondered if he was always this quiet. If so, it was a wonder he got Smokkey to talk to him.

"Got it," she said, but I could tell she wasn't fully convinced. "Well, Smokkey, it'd be smart to get home before your father does....preferably without the boy, because you know full well what he'll do." I smirked at this.
"Yeah, I know. Bye Mom." I hung up.

[Callie]

Vincent

"So, are you grounded?" I asked, wondering what the conversation had taken so long for.

[Emmy]

Smokkey
"No, but she'll probably do something when I get home." I said with a frown.

[Callie]

Vincent

"Well, I'm gonna get going, then," I said, waving slightly and heading for the door.
Hayden smirked at me. "Bye Vincey," she said teasingly.
I ignored her and walked out of the room, then out of the hospital. Where to, now? I sighed. Looked like I was going to have to catch up with the others to meet up with that old man they were talking about. Today's newest and most interesting topic with them.

I waved to and when he was out of hearing distance I glared at hayden. "Vincey? Really?"

[Callie]

Hayden

"What?" I asked innocently. "I can't tease him?"

Alyssa

"I want to call him Fred now! And Jay, what song should Harmony sing?"
"Ooh, did you hear Meghan decided to be nice and ended up getting hit by a bus?" Carter asked with a smirk.

[Callie]

Jay

"What are my choices?" I asked her, then turned to Carter. "I did hear about that actually. Everyone's wondering where Lyss's superpowers came from and why she didn't save Meghan too," I said with a roll of my eyes. "But to be honest, Alyssa, I don't think you have super speed or can fly, so my theory is that it was just an illusion and you weren't actually there."

"I'd rather you not, at least when I'm around." I said, making another face.

[Callie]

Hayden

"But I'm not gonna see him when you're not around. I've only ever seen him around on occasion. And I don't think he likes me that much." I snickered.

[Ashley (;]

Alyssa

"There's... All I Wanted, Careful, Decode, Emergency.... I didn't bring most of my sheet music. And what's that supposed to mean? I paid someone to run Meghan over with a bus so it looked like I was Superman?" I asked sarcastically.

[Callie]

Jay

I shrugged. "I have no idea what the hell it means. I think you weren't really there, and there was an illusion of you, or someone who looked like you, and you had no idea what was going to happen," I said matter-of-factly, then thought. "I want a fastish song. Not a slow one."

Alyssa

"Okay, how about Playing God, Fences, or For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic? And I was there, Jay. I know what I saw."

[Callie]

Jay

"Oh." I shrugged. "Well, that fucks up my theory. I vote for Fences."

[Ashley (;]

Alyssa

"Fences, it is, then." I shot Jay a look to say I'd tell him my theories later, then turned around and started searching through my backpack again. At least I had a general idea of where it was. "Any time, Lyss," Blaze told me with a small smile.

Jay

I raised an eyebrow at Blaze because I had no idea what they were talking about, but didn't comment. "What makes you think I'm gonna make a fool of myself, huh?" Harmony asked me, sticking her tongue out.
I shrugged. "I gotta feelin'."
"Oh, don't even start." she made a face and I smirked slightly. I knew she hated that song.

Blaze

I sat down in one of the stools with my guitar and gestured to the mic. "Ready whenever you are."

Harmony

"I don't have the lyrics," I said, glancing over to Alyssa. "Don't you guys have a drummer?"

Alyssa

"Found them!" I shouted, a bit too loudly. "You might want to sing a bit louder this time," I told her with a grin as I handed them over.

[Callie]

Harmony

I stuck my tongue out at her and walked over to the mic. "Your wish is my command," I said with a wry smile, and waited for the others to start playing.

Carter

"And I'd be the drummer," I told Harmony with a smirk. Blaze started up the guitar and I waited for my cue.

Harmony

I ignored Carter and started to sing when it was time. "I'm sitting in a room
Made up of only big white walls
And in the halls
There are people looking through
The win - the window though they know exactly
What we're here for..." I sang, singing my heart out. If I was going to sing a song Lyss had written out loud, I was gonna make it sound damn good.

I grinned and sat down on the couch. She was way better than she was at school. And that was saying a lot.

Jay

Once the song was over, I sighed. "And there go all my insults and disses. It was actually good. That's irritating." Huh. I might have to recommend them for Benjamin. He was always looking for new entertainment.

Harmony

"I think you should," I told Jay hopefully in response to his thoughts.
"Reading minds isn't good manners," he replied.
I snorted. "Since when do you do manners?"
He grinned at me. "I'll tell ya what, Stormhold. I'll get you guys an audition, and then we'll see what dear old Ben says. Deal?"
I shrugged and gestured to Blaze. "It's his decision." Then I turned to Blaze. "He's... sort of... willing to recommend you guys to his friend." I wasn't going to say "us" in case I didn't make the cut.

I pretended to think about it for a moment. Carter's grin already showed his opinion. "Depends. Do you wanna be famous, Stormhold?" I asked with a smirk.

I shrugged. "Why the hell not?"
