"Gabriel, no!" I shouted but he was already gone. I quickly teleported to where he was, not expecting to see her. I gulped.

"What are you doing here?" I asked venomously. "And who's he?" I added, looking at the other guy.
"Well, this is my Game, remember? And this a friend of mine. Adrian."
I stayed silent, and he rolled his eyes.
"Oh, relax. I'm not here to hurt you," Gabriel insisted, giving me one of those stupid looks of his. One that made me think her was irresistably sexy. I hated those, and I ignored it.
"And why the hell should I trust you? You haven't given me a single reason to yet," I retorted sourly, crouching down slightly.
He smiled dangerously; he did that a lot. "Touche." He opened his mouth to say something more, but I took the chance, and I rushed at him, my leg out to kick him right in that pretty little face of his. Adrian didn't look like he wanted to hurt anyone, so I'd get him later, if it was necessary. What I wasn't expecting, though, was for Gabriel to catch my leg and tap it back lightly so it didn't hurt, but so that I still ended up on the floor. I immediately moved forward to right myself and stand back up. So the hit didn't hurt, but the impact of the floor definitely did. "Actually, if I'm being honest, I'm only here at the moment to irritate Adrian. Believe me, I'd much rather be at the turret, having a nice chat with Devantae."
My eyes flashed. "You leave the others alone. And Natalia. They don't have anything to do with this," I lied. I knew he was only doing this for Natalia. He might think it wasn't obvious, but his eyes always softened whenever he looked at her.
"Oh, but they do. You and the others might not, but Natalia and Devantae have everything to do with it," he replied, smiling slightly.

"Don't hurt her," I growled and pushed him up against wall. "Just, stop it." It almost sounded like I was pleading, which definitely was the last thing I wanted. I didnt want to give him the satisfaction.

I gave Adrian a mild look. "Why, I'm not hurting her. Am I hurting you, Kata?"
She glared at me sullenly before speaking. "Don't talk to me," she hissed, looking curiously at Adrian. Likely wondering why he was defending her. "I'm fine," she added after a moment.
"See? She's fine," I assured him with another one of my smiles.

I reluctantly let go of him, avoiding to look at Kata. "You've proved a point. You got the upper hand, can we get out of here now?" I said, trying anything to get him to leave.

I smirked at him. "Of course I got the upper hand. This is my world, after all. I always get the upper hand," I said, looking at Kata dangerously.
"That's great. I'm happy for you," she said sarcastically. "And I actually... agree... with your friend. Unless you're going to let us go, I'd appreciate it if you disappeared."
I laughed harshly. "Alright, but time's a-ticking," I reminded her, glancing over to Natalia before I disappeared, at the turret now. Devantae didn't do anything once he saw me, just glared, even harsher than Kata had. He knew I was going to win this.

I followed him still. I didn't even know why, somehow I thought that I could stop him from hurting them. I didn't know how, but it was better then just standing around and doing nothing.

"Who's he?" I asked, jerking my head toward the other guy.
"Adrian. He's going to be helping me today," Gabriel answered.
I studied this Adrian for a moment, then shook my head. "No, he's not. He wants to try and stop you, not help you."
It actually seemed like I'd caught Gabriel off-guard for a minute. "Yes, well, you'll have to excuse him. He's part human. I just wanted to let you know that Natalia will be up here in no time," he smiled. "That's when I'll make your worst nightmare come true."
I clenched my fists and glared at him. "She'll never pick you. Never."
He shrugged. "Oh, she will. I'm going to win this Game, Devantae. I always do. You're going to lose Natalia. I don't know how well you'll handle it, but if you can get through that nightmare, I might actually have a new respect for you when I let you go."
"You're definitely going to let us go, then?"
"Of course. You can all leave once Natalia decides to stay here with me," he answered mildly.
I shook my head. "I'm never leaving her alone with you," I spat.

Devantae rolled his eyes. "I'm not letting her stay here with you. If she chooses it, then... that's her choice. But otherwise, I won't let her," he repeated.

I laughed. "Let... Devantae, so naive," I said, smiling dangerously again as I tried to think of other fears he might have. He didn't want any of his friends getting hurt... hmm. With Kata, I could hit two stones with one bird. However, soon enough, she and Natalia would be facing her nightmare, and that was something I didn't want to interrupt. Honestly, I wanted Kata to not be strong enough to get through her nightmare. She didn't seem like someone who got scared easily, and she'd probably breeze through the others' nightmares... if she survived her own.

I struggled in my mind. I wanted to tell that Devantae guy to just give up but I didn't want to help Gabriel. Yet I didn't want to see anyone get hurt. "Why don't you just keep the girl and let everyone else go?" I suggested.

Besides, if she doesn't stay willingly, she won't let me claim her, and you know how our elders are," I said, frowning slightly as I glanced out the window to see the cold, icy terrain that was the real Shadow World. I saw Devantae follow my gaze, and his eyes widened. "Terrible, isn't it?" I murmured. He didn't answer. OOC:  What do you need help with, Stebie?

OOC: Well, Gabriel isn't being nice to Devantae, and Adrian sort of wants to help and stuff, and they're at the turret, so no one can reach them. Kata is asking Natalia if they should try to open the door again and waiting for an answer and... yeah. >.>

I frowned. "Yeah..." I mumbled as I followed his glance. I then turned to Devantae. "If you love this girl... I would suggest trying to convince her to just go with Gabriel because he won't stop until he has her. And both you and her will get hurt in the progress." I didn't want to help Gabriel win the girl but I was sure that all hell would break loose if he lost and I didn't want Kata to get hurt...

I nodded. "Well... I can't exactly talk to her," I muttered, glaring at Gabriel. It was his fault. Then I looked at Adrian and saw... worry? I looked at him curiously. "You're in love with one of them, too. Just like him," I said, jerking my head towards Gabriel. "Who is it? Summer? Juliette? Kata? Or are you in love with Natalia too?"

I scowled at him, opening my mouth to say something but closing it quickly. I felt angry. Angry at myself for letting my... feelings for Kata take control. I would do anything for her but I knew that some part of me wanted to make her stay here, for me. I also felt anger toward Devantae. He loved Natalia yet his ego seemed to big so that he actually thought he would try and beat Gabriel. "I'm not like him." I looked at Gabriel.

"Oh, the Game's almost started. Kata and Natalia just have to figure out how to open the door, and we'll be on our way. As a matter of fact..." I snapped my fingers and a mirror appeared. A pretty good-sized one. I leaned it against the wall so Devantae could see that it wasn't a normal mirror; now he could watch just what Natalia was going through. Well, and Kata. For now, at least.
