Rise of the Kingdom

(Based off Avatar: The Last Airbender.)
Every once in a while...there comes someone who obviously won't turn out well....
But nearly four of them in two centuries? The world is in ruin. Any progress we've made has been wiped out...the two bigger powers, the Earth Kingdom, and the Fire Nation, are warring once again, and the newly re-populated Air Nomads and the Water Tribe find themselves dragged into it. The Air Nomads hate war, so they refuse to take sides; the Water Tribe has taken sides with the Fire Nation.
Insults and prejudice fly everywhere, against other nations. It seems that the Avatar has their work cut out for them, once again.
But have they waited too long? Will the world ever go back to peace..?

Rundown of the four Nations
Fire Nation
The Fire Nation is more industrialized than the others; they have metal ships and the like. They have fire benders; they are stronger during the daytime. They traditionally have a Fire Lord. They live in a hot climate, at the Equator.

Water Tribes
They live at the North and South Poles. Over the years the Southern Water Tribe has regained its old glory. They have Water Benders; they are stronger at nighttime, with the moon.

Earth Kingdom
The Earth Kingdom is by far the largest. Stretched across an entire continent, there are many, many tiny villages and a few big cities, like Omashu and Ba Sing Se. They have Earth Benders.

Air Nomads
The Air Nomads live at four different temples, North, South, West, and East. The have recently been repopulated, although there are still few. Everyone is an Air Bender here, no exceptions.

Bio: Saylee may have been born in the Water Tribe, but her father had to move to the Fire Nation capital to serve in the army. They're mere peasants here and Saylee's mother has to work for the palace, leaving Saylee at home to rot. Or she says. She just wants some action, for once...

Bio: Zevlin and his twin brother hate the war. They tell everyone they know this. After all, it was this war that killed their little sister, Kenley, whom they were extremely protective of in the first place. Zevlin is the introverted twin, and mainly keep to himself when he's not with Zarek.

One summer while she was hanging out with her friends, Lauren let her temper get the best of her and accidentally killed her best friend. Since then she's been pretty distant from life. She likes to pretend everything's okay, even while there's a war going on. But if you piss her off, you've just made your own war. Lauren's proven to be a strong enemy, but an even stronger ally.

Bio: Richmond is an Earthbender, so you'd think he'd be with the Earth Kingdom, right? Wrong. Richmond's large extended family lived together happily, until the war screwed everything up for them. Jefferson, Rich's ancestor died in the war so their whole family decided to pack up and abandon their Kingdom. He's grown up in exile, living off the land or stealing food to stay alive. Richmond is pretty unopinionated as to whether or not the Earth Kingdom should be fighting the Fire Nation, but he hates the fact he's stuck as a farmer for the sum of his life.

Bio: Kara lives at the South Pole with the rest of the Water Tribe there. When the Earth Kingdom attacked once, she was almost crushed under a rockslide. Because of that, she's very much for the war, even though the rest of her family wants nothing to do with the Fire Nation. Ever since Kara was little she's been known for starting trouble with her rash decisions and rebelliousness. The elders don't like her for it. Not much else is not about Kara.

Bio: Brandon's one of the endangered Air Nomads, except he's an orphan too. The monks in the largest area of the Nomad territory raised him in childhood with the goal of helping repopulate their race. They made sure he had everything he desired, but to Brandon, it wasn't enough. He wanted to explore the world, get involved in the war, and have fun. The monks realized that a couple of friends were starting to 'convert' to his 'belief' and were quick to disown him. Everyone is an enemy now to Brandon, unless you somehow manage to befriend him. Good luck with that.

Personality: Liliana is withdrawn and focused, and spends what little free time she was by herself, working on her ambitions in life. Because of this, she is often mistaken as antisocial. She can be a social butterfly though, but that trait is rarely exhibited.
Bio: Liliana has had no choice but to be a mother figure for her little sister, Elaine, ever since their mother got ill and pass away 3 years ago. Not that she minds, because she wants to make sure that her little sister is safe more than anything. She sacrificed much of her free time, but, as she says, it's worth it to keep Elaine alive.

Personality: Elaine is a regular young teenager - she's over-confident, likes to talk back, and bend the rules (no pun intended). In short, she's a rebel. But this is just a cover. Underneath, she's insecure and dependant on her sister, Liliana. However, she doesn't show that when around others, because she wants to be accepted.
Bio: Elaine was only 10 when her mother died, and it was hard for her. After all, wouldn't you be upset if your mum died? Luckily, Liliana picked up the pieces and took over the role. If she didn't, Elaine would probably not be the way she is today.
So where's their father, you ask? He's no longer with them. He died shortly before Elaine was born. It's unfortunate, yes, but it's in the past. You can't change it.

She's always been sort of rebellious, as in, she doesn't much care for rules, but she'll follow them... usually.

Sin doesn't worry about it, though. He usually goes with the flow, and he knows it probably just... happened. It's affected his little brother, Kialish, more, though.

Though Kialish has been more withdrawn, and won't usually talk to Sin, the one person he will talk to is his current best friend, Dice. They tried dating once, but they didn't really like it, so they broke up, and they've remained friends to this day. Kialish feels like Dice gets everything, since she never really knew her parents. However, he doesn't get to see her much, since they're from different nations and all.

Because of this, he's not a very good bender, sort of like his best friend, Sinclair Noir. They've been best friends since high school, and things probably won't change anytime soon. Speaking of, they can both actually be girl magnets, if they try. They just don't try often. Gideon and Sin prefer to just flirt; nothing serious. Actually, Gideon wouldn't mind anything serious involving a girl... not that he'd ever tell Sin. That would require Sin to make fun of him for the rest of their lives, which would be amusing enough, but...

I frowned and headed outside of the small house I lived in, looking around. I really wanted to do some firebending, but decided it probably wasn't a super smart idea, so instead, I sat down in the grass.

Sin

"Bye, kiddo!" I called to Kialish before walking out the door and heading for the water nation. This might take a while, but I was bored and I was gonna spend some time with Gideon. I knew Ki could take care of himself, even if he didn't seem like it.

Kialish

"Bye," I said to myself, rolling my eyes at Sin. He was going to spend some time... somewhere, obviously. Probably with some girl he'd met last week or something. He was always doing this, getting up and leaving for long periods of time. I didn't mind, though. Things were always awkward when it was just the two of us.

Gideon

I practiced waterbending behind my house. I was a fail at this. I had to be like... the worst waterbender in the history of waterbending! Not that I paid attention to history... ever.

I frowned as I opened my eyes to see Elaine's face just inches from mine. "What do you want?" I asked her, rubbing my eyes and pushing her away from me. She did that too often; annoying me during my free time. I didn't get much free time, and I was enjoying it.

I smiled innocently at my sister. "I want to visit Zarek. Can we go, please?"
Liliana's eyes widened. "Go all the way to the Earth Kingdom just to visit your little boyfriend?" she asked in disbelief. "It's not safe for you to go that far by yourself."
"Zarek's not my boyfriend. And I'm not going alone, either." I rolled my eyes. "You're coming with me."
She groaned. "Ask me later," she replied, and closed her eyes again.
I muttered a few choice words under my breath and walked off.

I finally reached the first house in the water nation and I sighed gently as I spotted a guy leaning against the house, I cleared my throat and spoke "Excuse me....Could you direct me to the central please...I need to meet with your leaders."

"Hey. Dude. It's really late...wake up..." I groaned and rolled over in my bed. "Do me and a favor and shut up, Zevlin." I growled, shutting my eyes tight. He rolled his eyes, I know he did. "Fine then. But when some girl comes to the door, I ain't answering."

"Why are so keen to visit him, anyway?" I asked curiously.
There was silence. "...I just haven't seen him in a while, that's all," Elaine eventually replied. She was blushing, I knew it.
I smirked at this. "You so like him."

I opened my eyes at that and rolled out of bed, giving a huge yawn.
