I raised my eyes at Levi but decided to keep the questioning till after I got my dress.
I turned to the woman, "Okay, so, bring me all of your fabrics that resemble midnight blue in plain patterns, we can work on sizing and style from there."

I chuckled and sat down next to Constance again as the woman scurried off and brought back a bunch of shades of blue to Bridget.

I eyed the fabrics beadily and brushed them with my fingers. I picked up the softest fabric, which also happened to be the prettiest. "I like this one," I murmured.

I turned to Levi. "Knee length, did you say?" I watched the woman's eyes widen when she heard my desired length, but like a good worker she stayed quiet.

I nodded. "Or shorter. Either or." I knew it was scandalous, but I was mostly surprised the woman hadn't reacted to Constance wearing her usual men's pants.

A strangled noise came out of the back of my throat. "Shorter!?" I gasped. Now that, would be interesting, though it would make riding Copper rather hard. "I think i'll stick with knee length for now," I said firmly.

I smiled slightly and looked down at the ground. "Knee-length it is," the dressmaker said, hurrying over to measure Bridget.

I yawned as the woman expertly measured every inch of my body, before she disappeared out of the room with a swish of her dress. "So how come that man looked like he was going to have a heart attack at the sight of you?" I asked Levi once I was sure that the woman was out of earshot.

"I meant I have no idea why he did that," I said innocently.
"The king wants Levi's head more than anyone else's," Constance told her bluntly, then smirked. "Because Levi snuck into the palace and stole his sword. Undetected."
I rolled my eyes and glanced at the sword lovingly. "And she's a beauty. Isn't she?" I said, nudging Constance and smiling slightly. "Yes, he's just angry I went right under his nose and he didn't even see. I'm not exactly his favorite person."

"We're leaving," I said abruptly, coming back and shoving the sword to Levi, who took it, eyes wide. Not that I could blame him; I'd almost accidentally stabbed the kid.
"No... he wouldn't..."
"Well, he did. Now let's get out of here before the whole damn army shows up," I hissed.
