I bit back a smile and shot Stella a look so she wouldn't say anything. She didn't take the hint. "So... you met a guy and everything... you ready to come back tomorrow?" she whispered enthusiastically.
"No," I said.
Stella actually jumped. "HOLY SHIT! I mean... Sep, did you just talk?"
I smirked slightly. "Maybe." My voice wasn't very loud, or clear, but I was actually talking! I felt... excited. I hadn't talked since... since our parents died. But now I could.

I changed into my wolf form too, running after her. I lagged a bit behind her the whole time and took in my surroundings so I'd know how to get back.

"Spencer's just a friend, not my brother," I informed him, then nodded before walking over to them. "Do you guys wanna come, too?"
"Not particularly," Stella said, "I'm not a fan of love fests."
I glared at her again as Spencer said, "I'll come." He might not be my brother, but he acted like one sometimes, and I had a feeling that this might not end well.
"Well, you have to come, too," I told Stella. "I came here with you, didn't I?"
"But -"
"Nope. C'mon."

Mom? They lived with their mom? Why had I not realized this might happen? I started to silently freak out. What if their mom ate Itsui for breakfast or something? I was totally overreacting, of course, but I couldn't help it.

My mom was the kinda mom that would bake cookies for my enemies when I was younger. A plump grandmotherly woman, she loved all creatures. Sure enough she waddled up to our new friends and gave them each a hug.

I hugged her back and grinned. Spencer laughed, then sort of stood there before awkwardly patting her on the back when she hugged him. September stood there the whole time, wide-eyed. Guess I hadn't been hugging her as much as I'd meant to... that or she'd really stopped trusting people big time.
