Meadow's Pond

The timer went off. I took a deep breath and slowly walked into the bathroom, where my fate awaited me.

Derryck

I glanced over at the pond, wondering if there really is a dead body somehwere in its vast murky depths. I stood up and began walking around, Dayna was supposed to have met me here over 20 minutes ago.

Eileen
We finally reached the pond, and Bree ran ahead of me, picking up dandelions in her little fists. I sat down on a bench, keeping a close eye on Bree, but also scanning the area around the pond. I suspected that, after four years, I would be completely over Eric even though I saw him in Bree's everyday. It was time to start looking again. I couldn't stay unsupported my whole life, could I?

I turned around and accidently bumped into a small girl. "Oops, sorry sweetie," I said while picking her up and dusting her off. I picked up the dandelions she had been holding and handed them to her.

I turned back and saw Bree run into a man. "Bree, honey!" I called, running over to her. She looked up and smiled at me as I came to her, swooping her up into my arms.
"I'm so sorry," I told the man.

I reached the pond and pulled the apple out of my coat pocket, sitting down on a bench to eat it.

"Don't worry about it," I told the girls mother. "I love kids," I grinned sheepishly and ran my fingers through my hair. "I'm Derryck by the way."

I smiled back. "I'm Eileen, and this is my little sister, Bree." I told the lie smoothly, with great ease. I had grown used to saying it by now.

Aubree
I took off my overcoat and decided to go for it, leaping in the pond with a scream.

"Water!" Bree suddenly gasped. "Can I go in water, Leeny?" Bree begged, wiggling in my arms.
"No," I said. I tsked under my breath. No young adult should be doing that either. They would set a bad example for younger children like Bree.

Avery
Watching the girl jump into the pond, I took my feet out of the water and leaped up. "What they hell are you thinking?!" I yelled at her. I suddenly felt out of place. I never yell at people that I don't know...or just people in general.

I swam back up to the surface in time to hear the girl yell at me, "Having fun, obviously."

I laughed. "Just so you know, I'm farily certain that water is toxic," I called down to the girl swimming in the water.

I slowly sat back down near the surface of the pond. "I'm sorry for yelling," I said quietly. "You just freaked me out a bit. I've never seen anyone actually go into the pond before..." I trailed off, thinking about the myths.

Bree heard Derryck and said, "Leeny, what toc-ic mean?"
"It means you can't go in it," I said sternly.

I pulled myself out of the water, "....Is it seriously toxic?..."

I shrugged my shoulders uninterestedly. "I dunno. Thats what I've always been told, and know one swims in it, so it makes sense, doesn't it?" I shook my head, thinking of the myth my dad had told me when I was little. "Apparently theres a dead body in there too, you wouldn't want to get snatched by that."

I grinned, "Don't believe what everyone tells you. I don't trust anyone but myself. Not melting or getting superpowers yet."

"Still, you could get poisioned or something," I laughed.

I grinned back at the girl. "Well hey! Who knows, maybe in another couple hours you'l be like the hulk. Big and green."

I tossed my hair, "Green's not my color. Though you never know. Maybe now I'm contagious."

I walked out my house and debated heading to the skatepark or the pond. As I stood there, probably looking stupid, Rayne came out from next door and looked at me curiously. Ah, what the hell.
"Hey, wanna go somewhere with me?" I asked, hands in my pockets as I walked towards him.
He shrugged. "Where to?"
"The skatepark or the pond."
He thought for a moment. "The pond." he nodded.
"Okay," I mumbled and led the way to Meadow's Pond. When we got there, I looked around. "Guess we came to the right place for intelligent conversation, huh?" I murmured, mostly to myself. Rayne looked slightly uncomfortable.


OOC: Just for the record, I love how you guys all felt sorry for Rayne when Adrian's supposed to die in six months.

I laughed. I was glad today was Saturday; I was glad that I didn't have any classes. But I did need to get to work in two hours...I put Bree down and she started to run and pick flowers again.

"Why don't you go talk to someone?" I asked him.
Rayne shrugged. "I don't feel like it."
I smirked. "Wrong answer." With that, I shoved him into a girl (Eileen), then dived into the pond. I'd secretly always wanted to do that.

Rayne

"Oh! My friend" - I turned to see that Adrian was gone - "I mean, I'm sorry. I'm uh... clumsy sometimes."

I jerked around to look where my legs were in the water. "What the hell was that?" I asked referring to the splash.

ooc: I think I'll make Aubree "Aubrey" instead because I didn't know there was a Bree.

"That would be me," I told the girl, poking my head out of the water while I emntally crossed out "dive into Meadow's Pond" off my bucket list.

I jumped when the guy appeared, accidentally slipping back in the water, "Stupid pond," I muttered to myself. "Well, hey, now I'm not the only one who's gonna turn into the Hulk."

Name: Danielle Roca
Age: 18
Gender: Female.
Bio: Danielle was only 9 years old when her father started to abuse her mother, it was brutal. Dani didn't know what to do and her mother refused to get help. Her dad had started to drink, a lot, after he lost his job - he was depressed and blamed his failures on his family. When Danielle was 14 he begun to abuse her instead and Dani's mom wouldn't help her. Her life was hell. She became pregnant with his baby when she was 16 and had to get an abortion, even though she felt terrible about killing a baby.
One night Dani heard her little sister, who was only 7 at the time, crying - so she went inside her room and asked her what was wrong. Her sister told her that their dad had hit her and that caused Dani to make a decision that would change her life forever. She wouldn't let her dad hurt her baby sister so she grabbed her father's gun and waited for him to come home. When he did she pointed the gun at him and shot. Her dad fell to the floor and she panicked, she grabbed a few belongings and ran away. She lived in an abandoned house for a few weeks before reading the paper one day - she read an article about a man who'd survived a gunshot. It was her father.
Danielle is terrified that her dad will find her and she's even more terrified of what he could do to her sister and mother, but she's too scared to go help them. She moved to Cliff since it was far away from home.

I unlocked the door to my new apartment and looked inside. It was small... and dirty. I scowled. But at least it had a roof and it was the only place I was able to afford. I put my bag inside and then shut the door again, even though it was home - I did not like being there. I looked around me carefully as I walked down some street.

I yawned and woke up in a daze. What exactly was I doing last night? I wasn't sure, but hell, did my head sure hurt.
I decided that the fresh air woukd do me some good, so I got out of bed. I walked over to my wardrobe and fished through it, and decided on a pretty white dress. I then applied my makeup and brushed my long, blonde hair. When I looked into the mirror, I knew the illusion was complete - I looked perfect and innocent. So I grabbed some classical shit book and headed to the pond. I mean, all precious little girls read by the pond, right?

I rolled my eyes as another girl poked her head out of the water. "No one ever listens to me," I said jokingly. I walked closer to the water. "But don't come crying to me when you two grow another set of heads." I kneeled down next to the girls. They were pretty after all, and a little bit of harmless flirting won't matter to Dayna...
