Automatically I pressed a button that opened the side door to the van. I rolled down my window and shouted, "Get in!"

Amy

I nodded slightly before I helped James in and clambered in myself. There were more people in there than just the gunner and the driver. This wasn't just a couple of people trying to run from the Blasters.

I blinked a couple of times, basically oblivious to my surroundings. "Wha...?" I said softly, my voice trailing off. I shook my head ignoring the commotion, and dove back into my book.

Jace

I felt Revelation's thin fingers grip my arm, yet her demeanor remained cool and calm. She would never let any fear show. I smiled a bit, despite the circumstances.

Dean
I pressed the button to close the van door but didn't wait for it to close before I speeded off again. "Keep firing!" I shouted at Chesa. "But if you can't get them to stop, don't waste bullets!"

James

"What's going on?" I asked. The world didn't seem real, after seeing almost nobody for weeks, we were suddenly in a van full of people. Amy didn't answer, she was too busy wiping the cut on my ankle from when she'd dropped me.

Dean
"We're the survivors of the Big Blast and I'm taking us to a safe haven in San Francisco," I explained quickly as Chesa again fired at another tire.

[Callie]

Jagger

"Try slowing down a little," I told Dean. "Then she can reach their back tires. If she can put those out, they'll have a bit of a delay."

My stomach churned a little. "It's fine," I said, voice coming out high in panic. "Just...just try to distance us, but not too much." I closed an eye, aimed, and fired again, popping one of the front tires. The truck slowed, rattling on the road now, barely driving.
Dean glanced behind us, then averted his eyes back to the road. "That should slow 'em down."
"Go faster now, and take some turns so we can shake them off," I suggested.

[Callie]

Jagger

"Ahh; the pretty girl with the gun even has good suggestions," I remarked with a slight smile, leaning back in the seat and shutting my eyes temporarily.
"How long d'you think the trip's gonna take?" I heard a boy's voice ask aloud, to no one in particular.

I rolled my eyes. "Is that sarcasm I detect?"

Dean
"To San Francisco? Days. And there's a possibility we might run out of gas...but I don't want to think about that until it happens."

[Callie]

Jagger

"It wasn't, actually," I said with a slight laugh. "Merely myself stating a fact."

Dayton

I made a face, but decided not to listen to that last bit. Besides, maybe we could make it without running out of gas. Running out of gas wasn't something that had to happen, right?
Belle shot me a reassuring smile. "We'll make it," she whispered with a nod, though I could detect the slight note of uncertainty in her voice. Obviously, she wasn't aware that I had somewhat grown up since all of this had happened; I could take the truth - I just chose not to believe it.
Ignorance is bliss.

"Well then I appreciate the compliment," I murmured.

Dean
"Yeah. Let's not be pessimistic about this. If we believe we can make it, then we can," I said firmly.

Jagger

"No problem," I said simply, ignoring the feel of Oliver's glare on me. I didn't know why he had his pants all up in a bunch. What fun was running away from Blasters if you were going to be pissy about it? I knew that wasn't why he looked all sour, though.

Dayton

Belle smiled slightly, and I returned it, nudging her in the side. "You should take a nap," I told her. "We're safe now, so you don't have to keep watch." It was true. Whenever we'd camped somewhere, Belle had stayed up all night so she could watch and I could sleep. She needed it now.
She yawned slightly, resting her head on the back of the seat. "Okay," she murmured.
I owed her so much.

After two hours of driving in silence, I parked the van on the side of the road. "All right, for those not napping, we can all get out, stretch a bit, and then eat. Food's in the back," I informed them all before getting out and heading to the trunk, grabbing a tank of gas.

Dayton

I nodded and followed two other guys (Oliver and Jagger) out of the van, stretching my limbs once I was out in the open air. God, it felt good.

Jagger

"I don't see why you're so paranoid," I commented casually to Oliver, stretching my arms out in front of me. "It's like you think I'm the plague. Or going to kill you when you're not looking." I shot him a devilish grin, but he continued to ignore me.

I stumbled out of the car, my legs a bit wobbly after sitting for so long. I squinted up at the sky, the hot sun making me sweat. Suddenly everything seemed kind of spinny, and before I knew it, I found myself running towards the nearest bush, the vomit rising out of my mouth. "Ugh," I moaned, as another round of vomit made it's way up.

Dayton

I looked over to the girl that was vomiting and frowned with empathy. I hoped in San Francisco, they had doctors. Getting sick right now, though, wouldn't be good. Not that the stomach waited.

I stayed slouched over, waiting to see if there was anymore, but there was none. I pulled my hair up into a ponytail, my mouth now feeling gross.
"Here," Dean said, voice full of pity, as he handed me a container of water. I muttered my thanks and took in a gulp, swishing it around and then spitting it into the bush.
Dean returned to his job of filling up the gas tank.

Leila

I stepped out of the van silently, feeling sort of dizzy from being in the car for so long. I walked across the street to the nearest tree to lean against. Well, it wasn't much of a tree after the Big Blast.

OOC: I still don't know what to post... so... more random convos between Oli and Jagger.

Oliver

"What do you want, Jagger?" I asked reluctantly, crossing my arms and not looking at him.
He just smirked. "A million dollars and a gold toilet. But it's not going to happen."

Leila

After I'd regained my balance, I decided to walk over to a couple of guys who were actually talking, waving slightly. "I'm Leila."

Oliver

"I'm Oliver," I said to Leila, glad for someone else to talk to other than Jagger. Why couldn't he have just been killed in the Big Blast? Immediately after that thought, I felt horrible. I may have hated him, but he was still my brother.
He smiled charmingly at Leila. "Jagger."

Leila

I smiled at both of them, "Well, it's nice to meet you two. It looks like we'll be stuck together for a while."

Oliver

I smiled slightly at her. "Yeah, it does kinda look that way. Guess we should all make friends and all that good stuff, huh?"

Leila

"Sounds like a plan," I told him with a grin.

[Callie]

Oliver

"Not a realistic plan, but a plan, nonetheless," Jagger remarked, wandering away from us.
"... You can call me Oli for short, if you want," I added to fill the silence.

Leila

"Oli it is, then," I replied. "What's his problem?"

"Good question," I said simply.
