"I don't think so," I whispered. "All the people I could find are here. There may be more survivors, but..."

Leila

"But we probably shouldn't stick around waiting for people who might not even come?" I guessed with a frown. It was good logic, but it didn't exactly seem fair to the others, if there were any.

Dean
I nodded, grimacing. "We need to get moving. The Blasters (OOC: Officers out to kill them) are on the move, and we have to get as far away from here as possible. We can't wait."

Jagger

Walking towards the park, I kept my eyes trained on the ground and my hands in my pockets. When I glanced up, I saw a van, and people throwing their things into it. My interest piqued, I walked closer, up to the guy with the clipboard. The ones with the clipboards usually seemed to be in charge. I flashed him a friendly smile. "Mind if I ask what this is?" I wondered curiously.

Leila

I nodded slightly, "I guess that makes sense." I glanced curiously at the guy who walked up to him. So maybe there were more people...

Dean
My eyebrows raised. I didn't recognize the guy, and since he didn't know what this was then he must not have been a survivor I found. "I'm gathering the survivors of the Big Blast and taking us to San Franciso, the supposed safe haven."

Jagger

I raised an eyebrow thoughtfully. "Could I come along?" I asked, looking over to the van and almost doing a double-take. The guy was looking at me, too, wide-eyed. He walked over and looked at the other guy.
"I don't recommend letting him come," Oliver said quietly. "He'll just cause problems in the future."
"Well, gee, I missed you, too, Oli," I said wryly, frowning at him.

Dean
I frowned too. "I'm not going to deny anybody the right to survive. If he wants to come along then he can."

[Callie]

Oliver

I just groaned and walked off, back to the van. I heard Jagger thank him, but I kept my eyes trained on the ground as he walked over. "Trying to get me to die all alone, Oli? How cruel," he whispered into my ear in a voice that sent shivers up my spine. My eyes stayed on the ground while he stood up and walked off.

Dean
"Okay!" I said, too enthusiastically, clapping my hands together. "Everybody pile into the van so we can hit the road!"

Amadyn

"Can I..." I started, my small voice trailing off. "Can I carry my bag with me?" I asked with wide eyes, clutching my belongings close to me. I felt like I was 5, even though I was really 15. I was scared, I didn't know what was to come.

Jace

With a huff, I threw mine and Revelation's bags in the back of the van. They weren't heavy, not in the slightest. "Come on, slow poke!" Revelation called, giggling as she bounced her way into the van. Leave it to Revelation to be peppy in the face of what could be the most dangerous trip of their lives. Regardless, her peppy attitude kept him hopeful in even the darkest times.

I watched the two guys curiously, not really able to get what was going on. Hopefully we'd get to leave soon...

Oliver

I knew Jagger was in the van now, and I didn't want to join him, but if it was sit in a car with Jagger and other people or stay out here in the blazing heat, I'd rather take my chances with Jagger. Even though the chances of survival were probably about the same. I climbed into the van and took a seat next to the kid that was supposedly called Dayton. The girl next to him (Belle) was staring off into the distance, and she looked deep in thought. The Dayton kid had his eyes shut and there was a small smile on his features; he was either dreaming, like that, or just really comfortable. Jagger... well, Jagger was just sitting there with a blank look on his face. I'd never been able to see what he was feeling.

"Absolutely, if you want to," I told the girl, smiling kindly before getting into the front seat of the van. "Are we all ready to go?"

"Aye aye, captain!" I exclaimed enthusiastically from my seat beside Jace.

Amadyn

I sat in the very back of the van, gently flipping through the pages of my book. I was trying to hide from what was going on behind the pages of the book.

Dean
I smirked and quietly revved the engine, slowing pulling out of my parking spot and speeding down the street. I didn't want to go fast enough that we'd attract attention, but I wanted to get out of Chicago as soon as possible.

OOC: As we all know, this trip isn't going to be smooth. Blasters can randomly find them whenever you guys feel like it, and just so you know, they're ruthless and lust for blood. So yeah.

Dayton

"Hey." I nudged Belle gently in the side. "You alright?"
She nodded and gave me a small smile, but I knew she was just trying to make me feel better so I didn't worry about her. "I'm fine, Dayton."
I pretended that her facade was working and just smiled, going back to pretending to daydreaming. Pretending. I did that a lot, lately. Mostly around Belle. I knew she didn't want me to think she was sad or weak or anything, and I didn't. But for her own sake, she needed to hold her head up high and pretend that nothing was wrong. I could go along with that, if it made her feel better.

I stared absent-mindedly out of the passenger side window of the van as Dean reached forward and cranked up the AC in the car. We hit a bump, and my stomach lurched. "Oh God," I mumbled, covering my mouth with a hand and swallowing the bile rising in my throat.
"Are you okay?" Dean asked, shooting a glance at me.
I nodded weakly. "Yeah. Fine."

"Well if we're gonna be spending so much time together, shouldn't we get to know eachother better?" I suggested, smiling brightly.

I sat in the vehicle quietly, not really sure what I was supposed to be doing the whole ride.

Dean
As I was adjusting my rearview mirrior, I saw a small black blob rising in the distance. "Shit," I hissed under my breath, and I hit the gas, speeding the car up.

[Callie]

Jagger

"I'm going to assume that's a no to the lady's question," I remarked, looking out the back window. "Oh, wonderful." Blasters. They were onto us, from the looks of how fast they were egging that car.
The next thing I knew, Oliver was next to me, looking out the window, too. "Do you think they'll - "
"Relax, Oli. Look on the bright side - at least if they catch us, we had a warning," I piped cheerfully.
"A warning?" some blonde girl (Belle) muttered, glancing out her own window. "I'll show them a warning," she muttered sourly. "They get anywhere near us, and I'll... I'll..."
"Do what, gorgeous? We're basically hobos; we have nothing to bargain with," I said with a harsh laugh.
"Who's to say we'll get caught in the first place?" the dark-haired boy (Dayton) beside her asked aloud. "We can outmanuever them; out-drive them."

"Amy, stop pulling, you're hurting." I glanced down at James, and stopped walking.
"I'm sorry. We can slow down now, if you want." I bent down to look at his leg, which was twisted in an awkward direction between his knee and his ankle.
"Are you sure you're okay?" I whispered to him. He nodded. I stood back up and ruffled his hair gently.
"Amy?" James was looking along the road, and he pointed to something. I looked. A van, chased by a car, was bearing down on us fast. I snatched James off his feet, and started running as fast as I could, hauling James with me.

I felt paranoia coming on me, and I refrained from screaming. "Can't you go any faster?" I asked Dean through gritted teeth.
"If I could, I would!" he growled.
I looked into the sideview mirror and my stomach leaped; they were catching up fast. "Somebody grab my backpack from the trunk!" I shouted. I didn't want somebody to have to reach into the back, but I needed it. Now.

OOC: A van. The Blasters are in a car.

Oliver

I reached into the trunk and grabbed what I thought was her bag, tossing it up to her. What did she need from it anyways?

James

I screamed as the van got closer to us. Even if the van didn't kill us, the Blasters behind them would. Amy was getting slower, but we'd be even slower if I was running myself. Amy stumbled and spread her arms to stop herself falling, but dropped me. She spun to face the van.
"Stop!" She screamed, holding her arms up to show she wasn't armed. "Please!"

"Shit!" I heard Dean shout, putting on the brakes hard as I caught my backpack. I gasped as the air was knocked out of me, my seatbelt digging into my chest. I struggled to roll down the window, pulling out my gun from my backpack. I loaded it quickly, then pointed it out of the window as the truck increased its speed. I closed an eye and aimed for one of the wheels, then fired the gun. A wheel exploded, and they skidded a little but continued to come towards us, slower.

I screamed slightly when I slammed against the seat in front of me. Why the hell would you jump in front of a speeding van?

Amy

I had to help James up quickly once I realised the van hadn't killed us. There was a gun poking out of the window on one side, but it wasn't aimed at us. I hurried as fast as I dared while pulling James along to the drivers window. Relief left me speechless.
