The Lich King is back.
Arthas, as he once was called, has taken control over the snowy lands of Northred.
With an army of undead by his side, he is planning to eliminate anyone who is against him and take control of Azeroth.
The Horde and Alliance, though not working together, are both trying to stop him but will they succeed?
Good to know
As much as this RP is based of World of Warcraft... it really isn't. The plot is really simple and the game has just inspired the names and character creation. Don't feel overwhelmed just because you haven't played this game before, you won't need to know any lore or such... you're free to make up new villains, side-quests and such.
Azeroth: Earth, but also the continents except for Northrend.
Northrend: An Island north of Azeroth.
Rules
- All normal RP rules apply, you should have them memorized by now.
- The RP takes place in a world where magical creatures are common.
- If you think of a cool addition to the plot, go for it, but if it effects everyone - PM me with the idea.
- I removed a few races and moved one race... like I said, this RP doesn't really follow the game.
- Note that when you create Draeneis/Undead/Night Elves or anyone else that are suppose to have blue skin/look dead, the picture doesn't need to be so. We'll use our imagination!
- Have fun and all that jazz :]
Character Creation
Faction
Your character will be either Alliance or Horde. The two sides have different races, so if you're a vampire, you can't be Alliance (Not officially anyway).
Alliance
The Alliance consists of powerful cultures and groups bound not by desperation or necessity, but by their deep commitments to abstract concepts like nobility and honor.
Races of the Alliance
Human
There are a lot of humans, more than any other race in Azeroth and that has made them very powerful. They have been a lot of all three World Wars but they had to team up with the Draenei in the second war and the Night Elves joined them in the third war.
They've fought bravely with the Undead for generations and despite hating the other races of the Horde, they dislike the Undead the most.
Humans are a very proud and noble race and have always thought of themselves as the most important race. But the newer generations have learned to live with the Draenei and Night Elves as equals.
Night Elf
The Night Elves didn't pick sides until the third war. They lived in the forests in the northern Azeroth and ignored the other races. When the Undead started chopping down the forest, the Night Elves felt that they had to step in. So they joined the Alliance. Night Elves are very aware of the nature around them and rather live with it then to disturb it. They can live very long lives and during their lifetime their race have lived together with animals and learned to appreciate nature.
Night Elves are usually very calm and rarely loose their temper. They believe in nature's power, they call it the "Elune."
Night Elves have purple skin and long ears.
Draenei
The Draenei aren't even from this planet! They come from a distant place called Outland and they ended up on Azeroth by mistake. They crashed their crystal ship. They are called "aliens", which they are, but yet they are quite similar to Night Elves. They are calm and intelligent creatures. They believe in a light called the "Naaru" and every Draenei has the power of the Naaru and can use it to heal people.
Draenei have blue skin, but other then that they look like Night Elves.
Horde
The Horde, a faction led by off-worlders and composed of outsiders has survived these obstacles by bonding together, fighting as family, comrades, or even uneasy allies
Undead
They were humans before but after their death they were brought back to life, by the Lich King, and they are now walking dead. They broke free from the Lich King's control and from that moment they formed their own society. They recruit by taking human corpses and letting Warlock's perform a ritual on their bodies, turning them into undead. The undead were jealous of the human power and they started the first war. With every human soldier that died, the undead just grew stronger. Despite losing the first war, they started a second war when their troops grew; but the humans had teamed up with the Draenei and Night Elves. So the undead did the same...
The Undead are quite dark creatures but a lot of undead never accepted that they were now a part of the Horde. Those undead usually flee and live as outlaws...
Undead can still die, but you got to burn their corpses to make sure that they are completely dead.
Other Undead
This isn't a race, more a part of the Undead race. Since the undead are the walking dead, there can be many undead. Vampires, zombies - you name it, they exist. But they still count as Undead.
Blood Elf
The Night Elves corrupted cousins.
When the Night Elves went to live in the forest, a few of them wasn't happy with just living peacefully in the woods. They left and slowly lost their minds due to their hunger for magic. Literally. All Blood Elves have a power to absorb magic from other creatures and they grow more powerful from it. The corrupted Night Elves got addicted. While some went completely insane, a few others managed to get their need under control and become more sophisticated. They joined the Horde to make more power overall.
It varies from Blood Elf to Blood Elf how badly they urge magic. Some can go weeks, months without wanting it while other can feel the addiction everyday.
Blood Elves must not steal magic to stay alive, but it makes them more powerful - for a while, then you start to feel weaker. It really does work like a drug addiction. (When they steal magic from someone it doesn't kill them, it just makes them very weak.)
Blood Elves have pale skin but long ears like Night Elves.
Worgen
The final, and newest, race of the Horde. Worgens were humans once, too, but a terrible disease spread among the humans they lived in the Eastern Azeroth. The disease turned them into raging wolves and there was no sign of any human left inside them. The Blood Elves found the city many years later. They put a magical spell on the Worgen, turning them into shape shifter. (They can switch between their human and wolf form).
Blood Elves told the Worgen that the humans had never tried to help them out at all, they were just gonna let them die out. The Worgen, feeling betrayed, joined the Horde.
Classes
Every race can be any class, to avoid confusion.
Psychic
Pretty simple, you guys know what to do with this class. Psychics powers are in their mind. Only let your psychics have one or two powers, so that they don't get too overpowered.
Mage/Warlock
Mages and Warlocks are pretty simple, they work with spells. Mages use spells that are elemental (fire, ice, water spells) to defeat their enemies. Warlocks use the dark magic, every spell that is morally "wrong". They use torturing spells, create zombies - if it's dark and wrong it's right up their alley.
Warriors
Warriors don't use spells, but they are masters of weapons and how to fight with them. Do you warrior enjoy battling with swords, hammers or maybe a spear?
Druid
Shape shifters, to put it simply. Druids can turn into one animal (unless you're a worgen, then you have your wolf form too).
Thief
These thieves use the shadows to surprise their victims. If you've ever met a really good thief, that might be the last person you'll ever meet. Thieves depend a lot on surprising their victim.
