I frowned. "You're being very mean, considering that I didn't have to get you into this party." I wouldn't admit that I liked her quite a bit, actually, and I couldn't tell if she was being serious or not about being angry that I said she couldn't have any beer. It wasn't like she had to listen to me in the first place.

I placed one hand lightly on his shoulder blade, then moved a little closer to him. "When I take a step forward, you take one back," I instructed him.
