Joyce shrugged. "Anything," she said simply.

I thought a moment. "My power is seeing the past of objects?" I tried. That was something, wasn't it?

[Callie]

Lyric

It was quiet and awkward, so I did the first thing I could think of, which was clapping. "Whooo!" I said enthusiastically. And then when Isis, Joyce, and the other guy looked at me, I put my right hand on top of my left and wiggled my thumbs in a circular motion. "Awkward turtle," I muttered.

Hope
I smiled at her turtle thing. I used to do that a lot when I was really young.

Evelyn

I stared at the doors of the institute with bags in either hand. I looked at the door handles and moved my elbow awkwardly, trying to open the door, when a boy's voice came from behind me.
"Let me get that." He muttered and opened to the door for me.
"Thanks, er.." I looked at him, waiting for him to introduce himself.
"Hunter." He told me, simply, expressionless.
"Evelyn." I replied as I walked inside with him.

Xander

I heaved my bag up on to my shoulder again after I dropped it. "Stupid bag." I grumbled as I walked in to the institute. There were people here. All in their teens, beside Joyce. I sighed. Thank God I was out of my parents house, which was overrun with kids now.

Willow

Going in to the institute was like entering somewhere I'd always wanted to go. It was safe, and it had people I could be friends with. So maybe I was making the right choice by going here.

Archie
I took a little peice of paper out of my pocket and read it. "Hey! Shotsy your in room 3! Thats down the hall to your left." She looked at me and ran down to grab her bags. "Thanks arch!" She said as she ran off down the hall. "Now I'm in room 2. Lets see, it should be..."

Shotsy
I walked off down the hall and counted the rooms. "1, 2, AH! heres 3!" I opened the door and sat on the bed. There were two bed. "Hmm.... a roommate?"

[Callie]

"Um... well, Ollie, why don't you go next, then?" Joyce asked. The boy blushed. "Um... I'm Ollie. I, uh, read minds..." he trailed off and sat back down.

I looked down, since I knew it was my turn next. I didn't want to say anything, not really. My business....should stay my business.

[Callie]

OOC: Nope, it's not. Sorry, I forgot to reply.

Lyric

"And you, Hope?" asked Joyce pleasantly. I could see she didn't want to go, so I stood up.
"This is Hope," I said, gesturing to her, "and I'm Lyric. I have a photographic memory. Hope can... um... talk to animals." Yeah, let's go with that. And I sat back down.

Hope
I giggled. "Not quite. But I give you points for trying."

[Callie]

Lyric

I shrugged and smiled a bit. Even Isis cracked a smile, but it was gone the next moment. "I was totally relatively close, though. Admit it."

"I admit, you were just this close."

[Callie]

Lyric

"What's the actual answer, then?" I asked, fake drumming on the table with my fingers.

Willow

I walked along the corridor, looking for room 3. I opened the door, and spotted my room mate immediately. "Oh. Hi." I smiled slightly at her.

Shotsy
"Oh hi! I'm Sharlene! Err... But call me Shotsy please." I smiled back at her

Willow

I nodded. "I'm Willow." I put my bag on the bed that wasn't occupied by her. I slipped off my shoes and knelt on the bed beside my bag. "Nice to meet you."

Shotsy

"Same Here" I sat on my bed and looked through my bag, I ulled out all my clothes and folded them neatly on my bed. "So what are your powers?" I asked, trying to make convorsation

Willow

I bit my lip when she said that. "I..." I stared at my beg for a moment, reminding myself that everybody here had the same kind of... problem as me. "I see fears, and hopes. What's yours?" I tried acting normal.

[Babee-Dee]

Shotsy
"I can control electronics and machines. I think its called.......... TechnoKenises!" I smiled and thought. "Can you really see fears?" I asked warily. I didn't wanna get her mad if it was true, She could ambush me with a bunch of tartulas!

Hope
"I see the choices people make, and then the results."

[Kitkat.]

Willow

I nodded. "Usually, but I... can't tell with you... but I don't know if I can see psychics..." I frowned. I'd never met people like me.

[Babee-Dee]

Shotsy
I let out a sigh of relief "Thank god! Man, that scared me a little" I let out a laugh and shrugged. "Eh but who can help it?"

[Callie]

Lyric

I nodded a bit. "So... the future. To put it more simply. Right?"

[Emmy]

Hope
"More or less, yeah."

[Callie]

Lyric

"Well... that's cool," I said with a nod.
Joyce looked over to the next person, who happened to be Isis. She took the hint. "I'm Isis, and I'm 18," she said simply, evidently not wanting to share whatever her power was.

"So, what's for dinner?!" I asked enthusiastically when it got very quiet. Awkward silences just about killed me.

"Meatloaf and mashed potatoes!" Joyce declared with a big smile as someone brought out the food and set it in the center.

Nice and old-fashioned. I couldn't count the times I'd had that for dinner. "Yum." I faked easily, trying to dissipate the remaining awkwardness.
