"Oh. Well, I suppose that would be a valid reason to... dislike him."

I looked up at her. "Yeah, it is. He doesn't get why, though, which is damn annoying."

[Callie]

AmberLynn

"Have you told him?"

[Emmy]

Noah
She got me there. "....No."

[Callie]

AmberLynn

I smiled slightly, looking up at the ceiling. "I don't mean to interfere, really, but maybe you should. Maybe he thought that rehab would help you, so he thought he was doing you a favor. In his eyes, he probably thinks what he did was best for you."

[Emmy]

Noah
I glared at something else, because I knew she was right. "Sending me to a place where they watched my every move all day, just in case i snuck in some beer or something, is not good for any teenager."

[Callie]

AmberLynn

"It's possible he didn't know that was going to happen," I reminded him.

[Emmy]

Noah
"It's also possible that my perfect brother didn't want me ruining his reputation." I said coldly. "I wouldn't put it past him."

[Callie]

AmberLynn

I just shrugged. "I'm sorry," I said carefully, extinguishing the cigarette on the wall and throwing it into the trash.

[Emmy]

Noah
"I am too, but being sorry doesn't change anything." Just then a teacher came along and gave me a look. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know." I muttered extinguishing my cigarette as well and threw it into the trash.
"Come with me, Noah." She said. Obviously she wouldn't let this go. I rolled my eyes. "Why should I?"

I looked between Noah and the teacher, wondering how I could possibly come up with a lie for this one. Think, AmberLynn, think... The next thing I knew, the words were rolling easily off my tongue as I looked her in the eyes, "Ma'am, we were simply experimenting with the causes of... tobacco, yes?" I knew that was probably the worst lie I'd ever come up with, but it was worth a shot.

OOC: Because I think it'd be cool/fitting if she had a sort of compulsion for her witchly power. xD If that's okay with Emmy. If not, it doesn't have to work.

I looked at AmberLynn like she was crazy, but the teacher's eyes glazed over and she nodded. "Yeah, that's fine," she said, and walking away.
"Alright, what the fuck did you just do?"

I looked over and scowled at Noah. "I don't know what you're talking about," I said dismissively, but I was shaking. He made a fair point. What had I just done?

"Well whatever you did....cool." I said with a slight smile.

[Callie]

AmberLynn

"Yeah," I breathed, still shaking slightly. I didn't feel so good.

I studied her intently. "You don't know that you're one, do you?"

"One... What are you talking about?" I asked, leaning against the lockers and putting my hand to my forehead.

"You're a witch, and you specialize at compulsion." I said simply. "I'm guessing that was compulsion back there, anyway. If it isn't I dunno what the hell it was."

I just blinked. "But... witches are..." Not real? Is that what I was going to say? One of the grandmothers in one of my foster families had said I had power, that I was... magic. I had written her off as crazy. To my credit, she was. She rarely talked to anyone, and when she did, she was very cryptic and no one ever knew what she was on about. She couldn't possibly have been being serious when she'd said I was a witch, that she could sense it?

"Adam, Trinity and Hale are magic," I didn't know why I was telling her this, but okay. "So that makes me magic too, I just never use it."

[Callie]

AmberLynn

I finally looked back over to him. "Why not?" I asked curiously.

I shrugged. "Don't really have much of a use for it."

[Callie]

AmberLynn

"Oh. Well... did you ever... specialize... in something?"

[Emmy]

Noah
"Not yet, I'm a late bloomer," I said with a smirk.

[Callie]

"Oh. So... what else is there, besides compulsion?" I pressed, knowing I was asking too many questions. I did that sometimes, but I just wanted to know. Everything.

[Emmy]

Noah
"way, way, WAY too many to name. Basically, think of most of the powers you have known/heard of, and that's the stuff you can specialize in."

[Callie]

"Oh," I said quietly. "Like... mind-reading? Can all witches do that, or just a few?"

"Just a select few. It kind of depends on your personality, sort of."

[Callie]

AmberLynn

"Powers depend on your personality?" I asked with a puzzled look. Did they? Was he figuring out that I was a liar?

"Yeah. Or so people say. Like mind readers are really intuitive."
