I coughed a bit and straightened up, glaring a bit at Ivan. Apparently I'd underestimated them. Except for Blaise. I knew she'd probably be the easiest to get rid of. Not that I wanted to, granted. I loved her. But it was quite obvious now that she'd rather kill me than anything else.
My suspicions were further proved when she lunged for me, but I dodged her and threw her against the wall. I headed for the two boys, then, but stopped when I saw the girl and walked for her instead. This was almost too easy. I'd get her and be out there before they even fully realized what was happening.

The driver let out a groan when I opened the car door and started to get out. "What are you - No! Get - oh, Jesus Christ, I'm dead meat."
I ignored him and stood by the end of the car, waiting until the other vampire noticed me. When he did, he faced me and started walking. Funny. He thought I was going down without a fight. I gripped the stake in my hand harder. His friend that apparently had betrayed him had left a few in the car, so I'd grabbed one. Now I was holding it behind my back - he probably didn't even realize I had one.
Once he got close enough, he lunged for me, but I ducked and rolled out of the way, then got to my feet. He raised an eyebrow, but watched me closely. "The princess thinks she can fight. What a laugh," he said mockingly.
Ignoring him, I eyed his chest, locating exactly where his heart would be. This time, when he lunged for me, I brought the stake up, aimed quickly, and landed it right in his heart.
His eyes were wide as he fell to his knees. "What...?" But he didn't get to finish his sentence.

I raised my eyebrows at her in curiosity. "Uh huh..." I mumbled. My hair wasn't all that soft. At least, I didn't think it was. It was oddly quiet, and my ears strained for noise. When I didn't hear anything, I got off the bed and cracked open my door. "They're not here anymore," I commented. Their things were still splayed across my floor, of course, but the group themselves was gone. I turned back to Chloe, shutting the door behind me. "You realize you only said 'not while Alyssa's here'," I told her, making air quotes and looking at her innocently.

I sighed to myself when she bit her lip. "Oh dear god," I muttered under my breath so she couldn't hear it. "I'll think about it," I relented. Only because she looked so damn kissable when she bit her lip like that and it was kind of tearing me apart from the inside out.

Perched on the maple end table was a phone. A cordless phone. And I was staring at it. I should be picking it up, calling Liam to casually chat over if we were going to do something tomorrow since my annoying younger brother had purposefully ignored my phone call. Normally, I wouldn't think it was purposefully, but seeing as how he always had his phone on unless he was doing an errand for Antonio, he was ignoring me. Which, in turn, meant he was so in for it tomorrow.
Before I could talk myself out of it again, like I'd been doing for the past half hour, I picked up the phone and dialed Liam's number, hoping I didn't wake him up or something. That would really be just my luck.
