Blade
I looked up, and Hayden was there. How ironic...
Smokkey
"It was less awkward in the slums..." I mumbled.

[Callie]

Hayden

"Yeah, I do that sometimes," I said, turning around to see Blade. I smirked slightly at him. "Miss me?" I asked teasingly.

Vincent

"Yeah," I muttered in agreement. Probably because her mom wasn't there.

[Emmy]

Smokkey
At that, Mom got up. "Gotta make a call," she excused but I knew sshe was just leaving so I could talk more freely. When she was out of hearing range i leaned back and sighed. "Thank God."
Blade
"No, not at all," I said sarcastically.

[Callie]

Vincent

I laughed. "Well, that was awkward."

Hayden

I grinned at him. "So what brings you to the Halloweeniest part of the slums?"

[Emmy]

Blade
"Aww, I dunno. Being a trained assassin and all doesn't have anything to do with it, though." I smirked. "Didn't wanna go home, that simple."
Smokkey
"That it was...what did she ask you when I came in, though?"

[Callie]

Vincent

"Oh, um..." I tried to think quickly. Failed. "... nothing," I finished lamely.

Hayden

"Ahh," I said and nodded. "I suppose I shouldn't be out when it's relatively dark and everything, huh? You might decide you don't like me enough to keep me around and not kill me."

[Emmy]

Blade
"Even if I tried, you'd see it coming," I said standing up.
Smokkey
"Oh...okay?" I said hesitantly. Obviously, it was something embarrassing. I'd ask mom later.

[Callie]

Vincent

"Do you wanna go for a walk or something?" I asked, just as the back door opened and what looked to be Hayden's dad walked inside. He sort of pointed at me, then looked at her mom with a questioning expression.

Hayden

I shrugged. "True enough. Still."

[Emmy]

Smokkey
"I would love to," I said abruptly, standing up quickly and taking VIncent's hand, walking out the back door behind Dad, before he could stop us.
Beth
"Smokkey's friend." I said simply, smiling a little.

[Callie]

Drew

"Doesn't seem like it to me," I grumbled, starting to go out the door after them. What was she thinking?

Vincent

I decided silence was the best course of action in this case. Until we got away from her dad, at least.

[Emmy]

Beth
"Oi, Drew. When's the last time Smokkey brought someone home?" I asked running after him and grabbing his hand before he could go out there. "What's the problem?"
Smokkey
I hadn't let go of his hand yet, but didn't really notice. I was trying to listen to their conversation.

[Callie]

Drew

I sighed. "A really long time. But he's a boy, Beth!" I complained, very aware that I probably sounded like a little kid.

Vincent

I looked down at our hands and bit my lip before dropping hers. Awkward.

[Ashley (;]

Alyssa

I smirked slightly, "Was I supposed to say you were too dangerous and run off screaming?"

Blaze

"You make a good point. But what if he gets out of jail?" I asked Harmony. Mom walked off looking completely confused about what to do.

[Emmy]

Beth
"We were the same age," I said, grinning at his tone.
Smokkey
I looked back and blushed. "Sorry. I think Mom directed his wrath away from you," I said smiling a little.
Blade
"I'm not going to kill you," I said smirking.

[Callie]

Isaiah

I looked thoughtful for a moment. "Well, the mafia tends to have that effect on people."

Harmony

"Then we'll deal with that when it comes to it. Now, are we actually gonna watch a movie, do I have to watch as you come up with chords for my songs, or do you wanna help me write a new song?"

Hayden

I shrugged. "I don't think you could, anyway, so it's alright," I said teasingly, grinning at him.

Vincent

I laughed a bit. "Well, that's good."

Alyssa

I grinned, "So you're admitting it?"

Blaze

"Well, I did want to watch a movie, but now these new choices are tempting me. Anything involving songs is good with me."

[Emmy]

Smokkey
I opened the door again and peered into the room with a quizzical expression on my face.
Blade
I shrugged. "If I tried hard enough. But, as it happens, I'm a lazy assassin,"

[Callie]

OOC: Right. Forgot to post as Drew.

Drew

I sighed and spun around. "You should come inside, Smokk," I said gently. "And where's Hayden?" I asked, looking between the two of them.

Harmony

I laughed. "Well, I sort of think you should make some chords for my songs, since I know them and then we're not just limited to two."

Isaiah

I shrugged. "Why not."

Hayden

I laughed. "Well, that's not gonna get you anywhere in your assassin career. C'mon, I'm thirsty," I said, grabbing his hand and dragging him back through the alley and heading for the nearby coffee shop.

Smokkey
I shrugged and came inside, looking behind me to see if Vincent was coming too.
Beth
I shrugged too. "She's out with her friends. Like always."
Blade
"I would have come without the grabbing of my hand," I mumbled, running to catch up to her.

[Ashley (;]

Alyssa

"Well, I still don't think of you any differently. No, wait, I do. Now you get to be my gay mobster friend. Nobody else is close to me like that," I said, sticking my tongue out him.

Blaze

"Alright then. Pick out what song you want me to work on first," I told her with a smile.

[Callie]

Vincent

I cautiously followed Smokkey inside as her dad nodded, then turned to me, biting his lip uncertainly. "I'm Drew," he said, extending a hand, which I shook.
"Vincent," I said simply. "Nice to meet you."
"... You too." I could tell that he was lying through his teeth about that. "Yeah. I've always been a bad liar." he smiled slightly.

OOC: Why is Blade running to catch up when Hayden's dragging him? xD

Isaiah

I laughed and smirked at her. "I would hope you wouldn't have too many mobster friends. They're nothing but trouble."

Harmony

I took my book out and flipped through before I pushed it over to him. "Misery Business," I told him, nodding.

Alyssa

"Maybe I like trouble," I replied innocently.

Blaze

I took the notebook and headed downstairs, "My guitar's still down there, so we can work on it."

[Callie]

Harmony

"You got it, dude," I said with a small smile, following him downstairs.

Isaiah

I grinned at her and started to say something, but then the door flew open. Her dad was back, and he didn't look happy. He put down a can of Coke on the table and glared at both of us, then looked over to me. "Your lawyer's here."
"So's his dad," called another officer, "in a limo!"
Alyssa's dad continued looking at me. "Definitely a Leone, aren't you? Rich, a drug-abuser..." he scoffed. "Hell, you're probably the one that killed your mother. Practice, huh?"
I stood up, not caring about the painful smack in the back of my legs from the chair. "I didn't kill her," I hissed. "Don't you dare even go there. You don't know anything about me."
He slammed his hands down on the table. "Oh? Don't I? I bet you're just like him."
"Don't compare me to him!"
"Sit down," he said.
I glared wordlessly at him, but sliumped down in the chair, glaring at the ground.

ooc: Because it caught him off guard and he's trying to catch up so he won't be dragged. xD
Smokkey
"Dad can read minds," I mumbled as an explanation.
Beth
"Yeah, you definitely were, lover boy." I grinned.

Alyssa

I turned around to Dad and glared at him, "I don't go around saying Blaze is like you. Which is apparently not a compliment, after seeing you now."

Blaze

I sat down on the floor and grabbed the guitar, "Alright, let's see what we can do."

[Callie]

OOC: But she already is dragging him... oh, never mind, I give up.

Hayden

"Oh, it definitely was," I said seriously, slowing down slightly, but continuing to walk.

Vincent

"Uhm..." My eyes went wide. "Right."
"Don't worry, I'm trying to stay out of that particular portion of your mind," Drew mumbled, sticking his tongue out at Smokkey's mom.

Harmony

"You need me to sing how I want it to sound, right?" I asked him, taking a seat next to him on the floor.

Kialish

Her words hurt majorly, but I wouldn't let her end up with someone like... this. He was no good for Alyssa. None. He was a werewolf slash mob-boss-in-training, and I wouldn't let something bad happen to her because of this kid. It was obvious she liked him. "Alyssa, stay out of this," I said quietly, as the door to the interrogation room flew open.
"Well, well, well," Antonio said grandly, smiling at me in that way of his. "If it isn't Kialish Noir and his demon spawn."
"Dad," Isaiah muttered.
"Shut up, Isaiah. How've you been, Noir?"
I glared sourly at him. "Never better." I'd heard them say he was coming, but seeing him was still a shock, at the least. Jackass. I hated how he walked around like he owned the place.
"Lovely. So how much is the bail?" he asked boredly.
"We'll find out when this son of yours decides to say something."
Antonio looked around for a moment before sitting down in one of the chairs. "We'll be here a while," he said. "Isaiah's good at keeping his mouth shut."

"But...oh, I give up." I said slowing to a walk again.
Smokkey
I made a face at mom but she ignored me. "It's true. I wasn't the mind reader but I could see it written all over his face...and yet it took him forever to figure out my feelings." I blushed. I hated it when she remembered stuff like that out loud.

[Ashley (;]

Alyssa

"Demon spawn?" I asked incredulously.

Blaze

"Yeah, and then I have to try to match up the chords with your beautiful voice," I teased.

[Callie]

Kialish

"Yes, demon spawn," Antonio said.
I glared at him. "Leave my daughter out of this, Leone. And keep your bastard away from her."
"Quit talking about me like I'm not here," Isaiah said irritably as the door opened yet again and his lawyer walked inside.
"Sorry it took me so long. I'm here, now, though," he said, extending a hand to me. "Captain Noir, nice to meet you. You can call me Al. Al Callahan.
I shook his hand and waited for him to sit down, which he did. "I understand that you found my client...?"
"Selling drugs," I supplied.
"Did you, really?"
"They saw me hand a briefcase to some guys. They have no proof," Isaiah said.
I narrowed my eyes slightly. "Then why do you have a briefcase full of cash?"
"I was carrying it to a friend's house. I owed him some money."
"Money for what?"
"I took his Vegas savings."
"Why'd you take his Vegas savings?"
"To buy a car."
I threw my arms in the air. "This is ridiculous."
"Agreed."
"Where's this car?"
"Back at the docks, where I left it when you picked me up in your shitty little police car."
Damn, this kid was quick. "Well... okay. Say we have no evidence other than that car. What then?"
Al answered me this time. "Then there would be no trial unless you found drugs in the car."
I sighed softly to myself. "C'mon, Alyssa. I'll take you home."

Harmony

I smiled slightly. "Poor you."

Hayden

I laughed and threw open the door to the coffee shop and sat down.

Drew

"I really don't think Smokk wants to hear about that, Beth," I said, blushing, and hopefully saving both of us from embarrassment.

Beth
I smirked. "Drew, I'm not embarrassed about it, as you obviously are." I looked at Smokkey. "But for our mortified daughter's sake and for her friend, I'll make an exception." Smokkey made another priceless face at me.
Blade
I awkwardly sat down across from her, playing with my fingers.
