'Sydney' the calls came happily an then the kids came running from each of the hiding spots "Hey guys...You've not been stealing have you?" I asked and they shook thier heads "Good."

I just nodded, trying to ignore the effect that small, meaningless kiss on the cheek had on me. Stupid sirens. Oh, and now she was going into the library. I heaved a sigh; apparently I wasn't following her anywhere. I continued walking, hiding in a dark alley nearby so I could folllow her when she decided to leave the library and be more helpful. I stayed there in the darkness for a few minutes, then practically jumped out of my skin when someone got me in a chokehold.
"... You're not a hobo," came a guy's voice, sounding disappointed.
I continued trying to wrestle his arms away from me, but he wasn't budging. I suddenly froze. Of course. This had to be the vampire that was sucking all those hobos dry of their blood! "I'll make you an offer," I choked out.
"Oh? What sort of offer?" he asked, sounding vaguely amused.
"I... don't know what I could... give you that you might want."
I could just picture the thoughtful look on his face... if I knew what he looked like. "Could you help me find a certain someone?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Don't try to outrun me," he warned before letting me go.
I felt like I was about to throw up. "This way," I said, walking out of the alley with my eyes shut. What had I gotten myself into? Once we were out of the alley, I looked at the guy. He didn't look like any vampire I knew. Not that I knew many. Dark hair, dark eyes, comfortable clothes. He looked like a regular guy... minus the pale skin. "Who do you need to find?"
"Well, she's gorgeous, blonde, has brown eyes, and she's a vampire hunter," he said nonchalantly.
Why was he looking for a vampire hunter? More importantly, why the hell was he looking for Spencer in particular? I was frozen in place. How would I get out of this?

Well... Spencer knew how to deal with vampires. I could lead the guy to his death, if he wanted. He'd be prepared, but Spence was good; she could kill him even if he was expecting an attack. I started walking, gesturing for him to follow me, and headed for the base. It was a pity he'd notice if I tried to sneak sending her a text or something.

I shrugged. "I don't think the humans are so bad. They might be... well, dicks, but I'm pretty sure everyone is sometimes. Some more often than others," I remarked with a slight smile.

"While that is my main hobby," I said with a smirk, "I also enjoy long walks on the beach and techno music," I told him in a serious tone, but I was grinning now.

"I'm back!" I shouted as loud as I could while opening the front door.
"Just bust an old man's eardrums out, why don't you," the vampire commented, looking around. "I hope you weren't lying to me."
I looked at him. "Would I do that to you?"
"Of course you would."
I bit back a smile. At least he wasn't a complete idiot.

Just as I was about to fall alseep a remembered I left my bike and favorite stake at HQ. I had traveled back over there, and was about to leave when I heard Ryder announce is return. ''And is the succubi dea--" I stopped mid sentence when I saw who was next to him. ''What. The. Hell!"

I smiled. ''I see, so your ideal date is a techno rave party on the beach?" That would be a sight to see. I said matching her serious tone.

I knew I should be pissed at Ryder, but I mean it'd be kind of hypocritical of me. Or would it? I really didn't know how to feel about this vampire, it went against my nature. Like a panther befriending a lion, or a vampire hunter befriending a vampire. ''Um sure, sit right here..." I said awkwardly as I sat down on one of the couches in the front area. ''So I'm Spencer, by the way and you are?" I said remembering I never told him my name. Probably not the best idea. Then again I could just sake him.

I didn't know what to say at first. My mind was a jumble. Sure I, well technically he killed the vampire. All I really did was stun him. Jude also admitted to killing the hobos, what would I do about that? I bit my lip and looked at my jeans for probably what felt like an entirety to Jude, but really like three seconds. ''Did you kill them because you were thirsty?" I asked in an even tone. ''And to be fair you killed the vampire, so you actually owe me one." I added, smiling for a fraction of a second.

With both of my hands holding paper bags filled with pretzels, cookies, soda, muffins and some protein shakes I made my way back to the HQ. I was tired, my hands hurt and I regretted not taking a little of the vampire's money before giving the wallet to him. Sure, I was just practicing but shopping food for everyone had hurt my own wallet.
