The Dark Gift

[Callie]

Mikah

I jumped slightly at the sound of his voice, cursing myself in my head. "Not anymore, I guess," I muttered. What was he going to do now?

Blade

I sighed. "That's not what we were going to do. And yes, I've tracked before, but it won't help."

[alex]

Ivan

"You have no idea how easy I can snap your neck and tell Vlad you fell while trying to escape," I said and grinned slightly. "But that's no fun. You have to be alive. Though... I am pretty hungry."

Truda

"And why not?" I asked him, putting my hands on my hip.

[Callie]

Mikah

"Then do it," I whispered. "Tell him. I'm not going through with this." Even if I have to die for it. The unspoken words hung in the air.

Blade

I threw my hands in the air. "Because I killed the guard. Out of boredom. Their ridiculous little organization is safe."

[alex]

Truda

I glared at him for a second before slapping him. Hard. "Do you have any idea how stupid that was?!"

Ivan

I bit my lip slightly. Maybe... just a little. I swiftly brushed her hair off her neck and then slowly bit down on her neck.

[Callie]

Blade

I rubbed the spot she'd slapped me, scowling. "Not at the time!"

Mikah

I barely had time to gasp as he bit into my neck. I tried struggling at first, but then I realized it hurt less when I didn't. So I stopped.

[alex]

Truda

"Well, I pretty much have to kill you now." I scowled. "Unless you have a better idea to get the Unholy of my back."

Ivan

I had a firm, yet gentle, grasp around her shoulders to keep her in place. I eased on my grip when I noticed that she'd stopped struggling. My mind felt like it was spinning, like I was high on drugs, and I loved it. I knew I had to stop soon... but that thought was at the back of my mind.

[Callie]

Blade

"Well." I crossed my arms and sighed, looking out the window thoughtfully. "Why do you have to do what they say anyways? Other than them being super-old and supposedly all-powerful."

Vlad

I lazily sat up as I heard a familiar sound. Someone was being fed off of. I opened my eyes a bit and frowned. "Now, Ivan, don't drain her. We still need her."

[alex]

Truda

"Because I don't want to die. I'd rather kill you then let them kill me." I grimaced slightly. "Sorry, but you know what I mean."

Ivan

I groaned. Damn it. I pushed Mikah away from me and turned around. "Fine," I said simply before walking off toward my head. The thirst was better, but I still felt like throwing myself on her just so I could taste the blood again.

[Callie]

Blade

I smirked at her. "Yeah, I know what you mean." Then I scoffed. "What makes you think they could kill you anyways? You're the one they send to do their dirty work."

Mikah

I slumped against the wall, feeling like I was about to pass out. I blinked a few times to regain composure, but still didn't feel much better.

[alex]

Truda

I rolled my eyes. "Because I... too had a little problem with them. But instead of killing me, they decided to turn me in to their little puppet of death. Apparently they'd rather not kill such sweet little things such as myself." I did a little twirl.

Ivan

"You'll live," I said to her before sitting down on the bed.

[Jadey!]

Callista

I looked at Alexander and smiled "Want me to wake her so you can say hello..."

[Callie]

Blade

I smirked at her. "I can understand that. Though, if I might ask, what did you do to them?"

Mikah

I just glared at him as a signal to shut up. He'd sucked blood out of my neck. I believed I had complaining rights.

[alex]

Alex

I closed my book slowly. "If you want," I replied.

Truda

I shrugged. "Accidentally stole two of their "meals"," I raised my hands and did quotation marks in the air.

Ivan

I yawned loudly. "Go sleep," I commanded her before closing my own eyes, feeling completely satisfied.

[Jadey!]

Callista

"Dont freak her out thats the last thing I need...I want her to join me one day...After shes done the whole children thing though." I looked at him.

[Callie]

Blade

"Well, there you go!" I said airily. "I accidentally killed one of their guards."

Mikah

I shot him an irritable look before deciding it was probably best to listen to him. Sleep would be needed for the inevitable long day tomorrow.

Alex

I shrugged. "Fine. I can do that."

Truda

"Yes, but then you ran," I said and scowled. "It's okay. We'll just keep running then. If I don't kill you, I'm gonna have to keep running anyway."

Ivan

Blade

I arched my eyebrows at her. "You're not going to kill me?" I asked, unable to hide the surprise in my voice. I'd been completely ready for her to leap at me and finish the job. Part of me wondered if I'd let her.

Ivan

I opened my eyes with a bang, sitting up in the bed. I shot a glance at the window, noting that the sun was just rising.

Truda

"Well, I don't want to run alone," I said honestly. "At least not now, I might change my mind." I shrugged.

[Callie]

Vlad

I stretched slightly and crawled out of the bed, glancing at the chair near the door. Our captive was still there, looking faintly alert but asleep at the same time. A good technique.

Blade

I shot her a grin. "And here I thought you were just sparing me because of my dashing good looks."

[alex]

Ivan

"So, what's the plan today?" I asked, not even turning my head to look at him. I knew he was up.

Truda

"Dream on." I rolled my eyes. "I think we should get a move on, somewhere they can't find us."

[Callie]

Vlad

"We continue our trip to Russia," I said, getting up and heading for the door. "Get her," I added.
She opened her eyes at this and frowned slightly. "I could move myself if you untied me from this damn chair."
"Now now. We can't have you running, dearie."

Blade

I thought for a moment, running a hand through my hair. "Where would they never expect you to hide?... Aha! I've got just the person," I said with a broad smile. That just meant I had to find the whiny little coward.

Ivan

I simply shrugged at Vlad before turning to the girl.
"I'll remove you from the chair, but your hands will still be tied," I explained before doing just that, keeping a steady hand around her wrists as I tied an extra knot around them - just to be safe.

Truda

"Who?" I asked and smiled as well, thankful that he thought of a place - because I hadn't.

[Callie]

Mikah

"Thanks," I said, my tone dripping sarcasm as Vlad held the door open.

Blade

I headed for the front door. "My little brother. He, uh, might be a tad annoyed, but he really should be over himself by now."

[alex]

Ivan

"So are we gonna have to spend another night somewhere before we get to Russia?" I asked Vlad, ignoring the girl completely.

Truda

"Aw, that's cute," I said and followed him. "A bit of sibling bonding."

[Callie]

Vlad

"Not if we make good time," I said, flashing a grin and pushing the girl into the back of the van once again. She didn't struggle this time. Good. Maybe things would be easier now.

Blade

I just coughed. "Right..." I could smell Abel's scent just a few blocks from here, which meant the difficult part would be persuading him to take his older brother and his older brother's friend in for a while.

Ivan

"Fantastic," I replied and got in to the car. "Step on it, or something."

Truda

I smiled and followed him with a bounce in my step. I was a bit excited, mostly because I wanted to see if his brother acted the same as Blade.

[Callie]

OOC: Truda's in for a surprise. xD

Vlad

The man I'd had driving for us last night had mysteriously disappeared, so I just nodded and got in the front seat. "As you say, ïàðòíåð."

Blade

Eventually, we reached the crappy apartment that Abel stayed in, and I shook my head at him. If he wanted, he could easily obtain whatever he needed and live in somewhere much more... luxurious. I turned to Truda. "I'm going to need you to get him to buzz us up. Pretend you're his girlfriend, or pizza delivery, or something. Never mind about the girlfriend bit, actually. He doesn't have one, so that wouldn't work." I gestured to the voicebox at the door.

"And that means?" I asked him, raising my eyebrow.

Truda

I looked at Blade for a moment. "All right," I replied carefully. I walked up to the voicebox, pressing it.

[Callie]

OOC: Whoa, Vlad's part so didn't show up like it was supposed to.

Vlad

"Partner," I said with a slight smirk.

Blade

"You'll see when we get up," I said in a whisper. "Say something."

Ivan

"Oh," I said. "Suppose I'll have to learn all of that when we get to Russia."

Truda

"Umm... Hi, my name is Johanna and I come from newspaper..." I stopped for a second, shooting a glance at Blade. "The Daily... newspaper. I'd like to ask a few questions about the robbery that happened a few days ago."
